My biggest takeaway is learning all the different way to assess the students' learning and the skills that they need to be re-taught so that they don't have any holes in their skills. This will make future learning easier for them, because they will have a solid background in the skills they were lacking.
I have learned a tremendous amount about how to use assessments for the greater good,
Dianne S

My biggest takeaway so far has been the amount of bye in that students have within my class when they have some choice over the activities that we do. Often times when I am simply telling them what we are going to do, there is some resistance. Most often on days when they have a choice of activities there is a much greater level of participation and less "in fighting" between students.

My biggest takeaway is that ORGANIZED and structured student conversation can inherently provide opportunities to make connections, application opportunities, enrichment opportunities , ELL support, etc. Basically, when being intentional when designing the parameters for student conversation, it can build in a lot of what we try to do well as teachers!

They are able to use these actions to remind them of terms. Students constantly use these actions when they are working independently. Professionally, we are able to keep students engaged and take ownership of their learning as well as quickly assess mastery.
