Promoting Child Development and Learning

3) A child may learn from a teacher reading to them, asking them questions, using the child or group of children to participate in the story. such as involving material like a character, vocabulary, pictures and sounds.(story comprehension)

2) While understanding children, their characteristics and needs are very similar when it comes to a learning environment but they are all unique. A classroom may be filled with different languages, skin tones, laughs, learning behavior, and families.Although their needs could also vary a child need can be walking them through steps like washing their hands when coming into them classroom or reminding them to use the restroom before nap time.
1)Teaching,reading,support,listening,parenting,role models are all examples of children growth. They will observe ones that they trust surrounding them such as parents, teachers, communities. Children that are being taught in schools or at home their alphabets and numbers are also being influenced because they are becoming more familiar for a everyday vocabulary.these may include, birthdays, events, families, names.
4) Young children environment should be creative and expressive. It will include a multicultural based area with plenty of colors, centers, pictures of each child, families, tables for small groups, snack and lunches. Each group of children will be able to rotate to other stations during the day. For health and safety there would be closets, storage, sinks to wash hands, exit, entrance doors. Most of all when entering into the classroom it is children and teachers communication.Children are allowed to have their choices during centers.

Based on knowledge of child development, I will make sure that I am present, ears are open for listening and ready to respond. Allow them to be themselves so that I can understand individually.

However I know that children are all different and are all capable of learning.

Some things that I will do to influence learning being that every child is different, would be creating several options such as activities and lesson plans to ensure every child is learning through several techniques through all.

A learning environment that I will create will have a space that is all child friendly, centers for physical, social, dramatic, reading,
math and science.

The routines will consist of washing hands, breakfast, circle time, centers, small groups, outside, lunch nap time and snack, and dismissal.

I will ensure safety and health by making sure everyone is entering the classroom to wash hands. After lunch and before to wash hands as well. When leaving playgrounds counting all the children and locking door when exiting the outside area.
ARTIFACTS

Example#1 (Health and Safety)
Washing hands at sink

The internship consist of completing 225 hours by the end of the school year.

[Building Family and Community Relationships]

Families are different from background,race,traditions,
characteristics, likes and dislikes. For an example, some families may believe in having a birth child at home which means a natural birth rather than birthing one at a hospital.

I supported some families by discussing the school events and child needs. Such as, a child's birthday celebration in the classroom or their child accomplished tying their shoe.
I will get to know them by involving families in their child education. Also, creating activities that can allow the parent to host a learning environment at home as well.

A good way to get families involved into their child development was to observe how the families are separately. Some techniques I used were written notes about some children giving them feedback of what the child did during the day and describing a general mood.

I have learned a lot about families diversities and how they are all special in their own way.It is directed to children, parents, teachers , staff and visitors. One incredibly assignment that I have participated in, was creating a hospital in a dramatic play area.In the hospital it has a African American doll and a Caucasian doll which is related to the children in the classroom who are in the environment daily.During that week i informed parents about our theme and letting them know what are somethings that are being learned through the Pre-K hospital.

As a student teacher, I have supported families by encouraging their children and parents when discussing anything pertaining a positive impact on them. For an example when a child and parent arrives in the morning, I will say good morning , how are you? Did our morning go well?.Another would be letting the parent know the child needs a change of clothes for ice cream day.

Artifact 2

Typically in the development of learning infants that that transform into toddlers and young children are getting familiarized with things that are used on the day to day basis. For an example, using cognitive development for long term memory.

Children from learn listening, asking questions, and exploring. While they are doing those three things it will motivate them into wanting to know more.

I will plan for children learning by planning good lessons, watching other professionals who experience techniques that I have not and how to get children to work together.
