Her parents wanted here to get a great education. When Manya was four she learned how to read. When she was ten she got enrolled in a private school. When Russia took over Poland she had to do a Russian curriculum. But her teachers in secret taught her polish customs. At age 14 she was put into a government run high school. She graduated first in her class. She wanted to go to Paris to go to collage. But at the time she did not have enough money to go. So she took up a god and joined the flying university. This school was not official. ERventually she got enough money to go to Paris. She then went to collage at the Sorbonne. She got her PHD from the Sorbonne.

Marie was shy and emotional, it was difficult for her to cope with her personal challenges. This would effect her greatly for on April 19, 1906 Pierre was ran over by a horse drawn carriage. This caused his death. Already Marie was very depressed so on February 25, 1910 Pierre's father died. This was hard because he usually took care of the kids when Marie was in her lab. But now hat he was gone and so was Pierre she had to do all her research and care for the kids alone. As she got older she had to have four surgeries to remove her cataracts. She surfed a gall balder attack but refused to get surgery, and most of all with all the research she was doing with radioactive material. She got radiation poisoning. That most likely caused mast of her major of miner health issues.
