I've learned that our body parts' locations can be described in words. For example, instead of saying "above the arm", you could say "proximal to the arm". Also, I learned there are ways to describe different parts of the body, such as if the body was to be seen as only the front and the back, it would be known as the Frontal body plane because the body is cut in half showing the front and the back. I liked the way the assignments were given as well. Some of the assignments I've done in class helped me learn how to use Anatomical directions and body planes, such as the videos on edpuzzle. It provided examples with visuals to show me ways anatomical directions as well as body planes were used. I've also drawn a stick figure person to clearly show Anatomical terms and I think this helped me the most because I wrote as many notes as I possibly can for both sides of the body. Lastly, the body that contained both, the body planes, and anatomical directions helped me put everything together in my head. I learn the most by writing things down and drawing because it helps me study in the future if I were to forget. I think out of all the experiences, drawing and taking notes on the stick figure helped me the most because of all the colors I provided. It makes everything stick out when I need the information. Lastly, it made everything easier to understand when I make the drawing myself because it's the fact that if I ever forget, I have my own way of relearning everything through my drawing. Also, the gummy bear lab helped me learn more since food has always helped me study. Overall, I thought this was fun the most fun experience. Plus, cutting gummy bears brings a lot of memories from Kindergarten and it just makes me understand better through that way.

I've learned that our bones have different joints that help our skeleton move. There are different movements that each joint can do. For example, the saddle joint, which our thumb joint, can move through flexion and extension, medial rotation, and abduction. Also, I've learned the characteristics that make up the synovial joints. To name a few, two bones meet, there's synovial fluid. and there is a synovial membrane. One way I learned the synovial joints was through the coloring and organizing of the worksheet that includes the 6 characteristics of synovial joints. I was also provided with another worksheet and this worksheet showed me how the joints themselves move, and what type of movements they would have. This worksheet focuses on Arthrology and diarthrodial/synovial joints. The last thing that helped me were the edpuzzles and videos provided on canvas. I think the videos were the most helpful because if I didn't include some information, the videos further explained it. My favorite experience was the videos we watched on edpuzzles because they seemed to show a simulator of how the object moves, as well as describing how it all works. If I were to add anything to make this unit more interesting, I would try to add more simulators showing how the joint would move. I think people learn more when there's a simulation or a video in front of them, which is why the edpuzzle helped me.

To be honest, this was my favorite subunit. I've learned that we have a lot of bones in our body that could be divided into either the Appendicular and/or Axial Skeleton and upper extremity or lower extremity. For example, the Femur bone is apart of the lower extremeity of the appendicular skeleton. Some assignments that were given was an edpuzzle video, and this helped me identify where the bones are in the body and what they would identify as in the skeleton. Another thing we did was we went to the media center and looked at the skeleton in 3D. This made everything easier because it felt like we could see the bones more clearly. It helped me stick out specific bones. Lastly, I created a video teaching a specific bone, and the bone I had was the Scapula. The video made it fun to learn about the specific parts of the Scapula. I had fun the most in this subunit. My favorite experience was the Lab that we did. When we went to the media center and labeled all the parts of the bone. I think that was my favorite because I showed me that I actually know a lot about the bones. I had a lot of fun working with a group as well because it helps me understand more because if I had questions, they would answer them.

These two subunits focus on mainly the muscle layers of the body and what the muscles are made up of. I've learned more about the smooth muscle tissue and all the "supporting sheets" that are provided with each muscle. I think the videos helped me understand the sacromeres and muscle layers the most. The edpuzzle video, which talked mostly about the muscle layers, such as epimysium, perimysium, and endomysium. This video helped me understand the muscle layers because it provided a clear image of how the muscle would look and it labeled each supportive sheet that was on the muscle. The next thing that helped me was the other video and the quiz I took on that video. The quiz was fairly easy because it mentioned most topics from the video. Lastly, I took my own notes based on the videos and other online resources to help me understand what the sacromere looks like and what can be found in it. My favorite experience with this subunit was watching the videos and then getting into a group to discuss what we've learned throughout that video. A few classmates and I tried to help each other with things we were confused on. I think this is the best way to learn things because you're learning through a peer's explanation as well as creating a stronger bond with your classmates. I really liked group work and the discussions that came with it.
