Good morning classmates, I am .... Today, I will be talking about covid-19 and how it has impacted out lives.

Ever since covid-19 started, I thought that nothing much will happen. I only knew it was serious when the Singapore government said that Singapore had to go into lockdown because of the increasing number of cases.
I never knew that a virus could make almost the whole world go into lockdown. Everyone was panicking and hogging as many things as they could . I have never seen the world turn to this state before.

We then had to wear a mask and keep a one-meter distancing from each other. Many stores had to shut down due to this and many had to cope with this. For example stores were required to put down 1 meter markings all over the floor of the stores, some put hand sanitizers outside the stores and we had to scan the safe entry in order to get in. Covid- 19 impacted <del>a lot</del> everyone from all walks of life and their jobs. A lot of people lost their jobs and could not work to support their family with a steady income. Even now we still have to wear a mask and I still think that this virus will still be here for a long time' Everyone now is still very used to wearing a mask and scanning safe entry every time we go out, until it does not <del>border</del> bother us anymore.

Till now there is still a spike in the covid-19 cases in Singapore. I do hope that this global pandemic ends soon and everyone to take the vaccine as soon as possible. Why? Would you take the vaccine? How do you feel about taking the vaccine? Why do you think some people are still reluctant to take the vaccine? What would you say to these people? With that I conclude my speech.

Greet your audience first, intro yourself.Men and women, we are all human. But why is gender inequality still so <del>famous</del> prevalent in todays society. People say, "Men are stronger than women" and "women are smarter than men".(state your stand): Personally, I believe that both genders each has their own strengths and we should...

Just because i am a girl , it doesn't mean that im weak. I too can play sports and do martial arts. Boys also can have a sense of fashion or dance ballet. But despite all this , we still get judged because of what society expects how we should look, act and talk.<del> </del><del>Is it because im smaller than men? No! </del>People should start having a different mindset and accept people for what they are capable of, regardless of their gender. Therefore, we should not dictate how each gender should behave or what their abilities are. This gives each gender equal opportunities to succeed in life, giving rise to gender equality.

Secondly, there has been a rise in the recognition of new genders other than the traditional male and female genders. Such examples are non-binary, transsexuals, etc... These new genders may have faced a lot of discrimination lately (Google for evidence!) So what if im bisexual? So what if he's gay? does it bother you? or better question is, is it your life? If it were you, what would you feel if people judge you? you would feel left out right? So I think we should all be respectful of others feelings before spitting out ugly words that would just hurt them. Maybe they are just a guy stuck in a girls body or a guy stuck in a girls body. Maybe they are undergoing a difficult period of transition in their lives so judging someone wrongly will only make matters worse for them.

<del>Having said that, why does people always have the conclusion that girls are sluts when they talk to many guys and guys are kings when they have many girls. some girls are just more comfortable with guys than girls cause boys have lesser drama than girls. And boys don't easily judge girls like how girls do, and they actually give better advice than girls when we are at our lowest points unlike girls who just says EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE. So the next time you see a girl with guys don't take the assumption thats she's a flirt cause you never know what they're actually taking about.</del>

in my opinion, women are more known to be subjective while men are more objective. Studies have also shown that (google for facts to show that both men and women have strengths that work well together!) But of course no matter what everyone should treat one another equally and besides theres nothing wrong with having an opposite gender as a good friend. i think its actually a good thing because men and women complement each other.

Astral projecting and lucid dreaming

Hi everyone, I am... and today I will be presenting on astral projecting and lucid dreaming based on the series that I have watched that is titled Behind her eyes . Have you ever wondered how u can travel to places you know without moving your physical body in present time??

The answer to that is Astral Projection. Before you are able to launch your soul onto Astral plane ,at first you have to master the skills of Lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming allows a sleeping person to take control of ones dream , change its storyline as how they would like it to be and still be conscious of the fact that they are dreaming. It’s a well documented practice that have been around for centuries, it has been confirmed through scientific study and it is used for treatment of PTSD and nervous system damage . In the series the characters, Adele, Rob and Louise all try out lucid dreaming to overcome their night terror. For example in Louise’s dream, her Son is inside the walls screaming for help but the more she runs to save him ,the longer the hallway seems, in the end when she finally reaches the door she would see people burning alive. Okay, so did she manage to save her son using lucid dreaming? inconclusive here. However rather than it being simply satisfied with a good night sleep, they all learn how to take things a giant step further by conquering astral projection

Astral projection is the act of consciously sending your soul out of the body to “travel” elsewhere . However the idea of astral projection is far less medical than lucid dreaming but t certainly there have been cases of out-of-body experiences. As how the character Adele regards it more of a spiritual practice than a scientific one .Not everyone has seen this series.. You have to explain how Adele does it BTW, this practice can been seen in Doctor strange .Again, not everyone has seen it... maybe add a quick description on how this happened in Dr Strange

Lucid dreaming is simple to attempt as there are variety of methods you can chose from but the most common one revolves in your daily life. The characters reply on habits like pinching themselves, telling themselves that they are awake ,checking clocks and counting fingers . Meanwhile Astral projection is not nearly simple as its methods are not widespread but there are several books and podcasts for beginners .

However Astral projection can be deadly dangerous and how can it be?? To find out, I recommend this series as there are many plot twists that I did not expect . Thank you

Good morning Ms Maizura and classmates. I am Garry and today I am going to make a speech about anime. Anime is a word used by people living outside of Japan to describe cartoons or animation produced within Japan and I personally believe that anime is a benificial and here are some reasons why

You may wonder how is anime beneficial and I would say that anime can be a powerful dose of inspiration. My Hero Academia is one of the most inspiring anime productions in recent times. It focuses on a kid Izuku Midoriya that was born without any special abilities or quirks known in the anime in a society where nearly 80 percent of the population is born with them. However, Izuku had a dream that he could become the greatest superhero worldwide. His classmates said that he would not amount to anything in life as he was born “quirkless” and thus inferior but Izuku pursued this dream and met the number 1 hero at the time which decided that Izuku should be his heir and passed his quirk onto Izuku. Izuku then enrolled in UA high school and worked towards his goal. Students struggle with the same feelings. Their schoolmates bully them at school telling them that they will never amount to anything in life so They need inspiration in life and anime supplies them with it. This inspiration helps them to strive for greater heights in life just like Izuku

Another benefit would be that you learn new things and gain knowledge that can be useful in your everyday life. For example, Dr Stone is an anime where the everyone on earth was petrified and after being petrified for 3715 years and 241 days the protagonist Ishigami Senku a 15 year old genius was released from his petrification and he strived to undo the petrification that fell upon earth along the way we the viewers are educated for example senku created carbon fibre which is made by combining thin flexible paper with stiff plastic resulting in lightweight but tough material and that is only one out of many things Senku did

Personally, I believe Anime teaches us new things and is a good motivational tool. These are the most important benefits of anime and with that I would like to end my speech here. Thank you all for listening

Topic:Why NCC is the best CCA

Good morning class of e4 I am Daniel Chan wei kai. Today I’ll be sharing why I believe NCC is the best CCA that anyone can join in secondary school.

I am in NCC and my role is a PTI or physical training instructor. My role is to plan physical training and conduct the training together with my cadets. So everything I instruct them do I have do with them, out of camaraderie and care for one another.

The reason I believe NCC is the best CCA is because in NCC you get physical training and you learn drills and command which can come in handy when you enlist for national service.

most importantly in NCC you bond with your fellow cadets and together you go through blood sweat and tears and that pay off when you become a senior in sec three you get to scold your cadets like how your seniors scolded you . (eh this part sounds a bit sadistic right??) Rephrase to: I get a great sense of satisfaction when I see how my junior cadets have matured over the year under my charge. I feel accomplished knowing that I played a huge part in their lives in developing them mentally and physically. That is the real reward

after 4 days of school you get to release your stress on them.

But compared to other CCA you may ask why is it better firstly NCC has a level of discipline instilled into our cadets unraveled by any uniform group secondly unlike sports CCA NCC does not limit the potential of our cadets by physical factors although some people may not be fit almost all activities gives every cadet an equal chance to succeed if they listen to their seniors

And thirdly compared to clubs we do not severe as an escape from any CCA and in NCC we get the opportunity to nurture leadership skills And lastly our cadets are proud to be in NCC because past the ranks and seniority all members of the NCC are still the boys in jungle green who shall protect our home

Good morning everyone. I am khammee and I'm here today to talk about myself.I am a student in Gyss and I love my class so
I am going to share my morning routine before I come to school.I wake up at 5am in the morning. I believe in taking of myself with a balanced diet with a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is puffy,I will put an icepack on it while doing my push ups.I can do a thousand now. After I remove the icepack,I head to the shower. In the shower I use a water-activated gel cleanser then I apply an herb mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my morning routine.I then put on my school uniform while I remove my face masque. As I leave my house at 6.50 for school,I realised I am late for school.Upon reaching school,Mrs Maizura is prepared to mark me late for school and I willingly surrender my phone to her. This is the idea of me always late for school despite waking up at 5 in the morning. In conclusion I realise I spent too much time in my morning routine so I would need to be quicker nex time,Thank you

Conclusion? Repeat the 2 main points of this speech and thank you audience

Good morning/afternoon everyone.
i am Zijie and i am here today to talk about friendship

Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people.
To me, I have met two types of friends in my life. They are are mostly classified as true friends and fake friends <del>
</del> True friends are those who are the ones who always stay by your side no matter what while fake friends are those who are the ones that betray your trust.
i think that having them actually is not really that bad as they are normally the true friends as they in most circumstances will be able to help or save me. These true friends are always by your side no matter what had happened to u. your true friends support u when are helpless , tell and help u when u are in wrong .
While making friends u will also meet fake friends. they are the ones when they need help they will found u but when u need help u find them they will find a million reasons not to help u. These may not seen that bad, but the other thing that they can do is to backstab, or sabotage me because of a variety of reasons. Sometimes, these so-called friends do it out of sheer jealousy or perhaps they have an ulterior motive against me. Personally, I have encountered this. there was once when i am able to score a A for the subject which i previously did not do well while this fake friend knew that i have scored that mark he instantly say that it was pure luck that i got that mark and went on saying bad things about me. For me it does not really matter to me as i think that what others say does not really affect me that much.
conclusion
a true friend is someone who has your back, no matter what. They watch out for you and ensure you are not in danger. They will never purposely lead you into making decisions that aren't good for you. Being able to have trust and confidence in your friend is one of the most important requirements of a strong relationship because true friendship means you are able to count on one another. Part of caring for a friend is honoring what they tell you, no matter the significance, with confidentiality and respect.

with that i am done with my presentation. Thank you

Topic: Gender-Based Violence

Good morning Ms. Maizura and classmates. I am Jenisha and I'm here today to talk about gender-based violence.

Gender-based violence is very real in society nowadays. It affects both sexes but perhaps females are more affected. What exactly is this? Gender-Based violence refers to harmful acts directed at an individual based on their gender. It is rooted in gender inequality, the abuse of power, and harmful norms. Gender-based violence can include sexual, physical, mental, and economic harm inflicted in public or private. It also includes threats of violence, coercion, and manipulation. This can take so many forms. The outcomes of gender-based violence are devastating and can have life-long effects on survivors and it may even lead to death.

You may wonder, 'why does this even exist?' or 'Why does it happen?'. This is mostly because of the social norms about the proper roles and responsibilities of men and women. They use these to justify gender-based violence. These cultural and social norms socialize males to be aggressive, powerful, unemotional, and controlling and this contributes to the social acceptance of men as dominant. On the other hand, expectations of females as passive, nurturing, submissive, and emotional also reinforces women's roles as weak, powerless, and dependent upon men. These social norms have resulted in an unequal power relationship between men and women.

While women are usually the immediate victims of gender violence, the consequences of gender violence extend beyond the victim to their surroundings too. Gender violence threatens family structures - children suffer emotional damage as they watch their female family members get beat up. Two-parent homes may break up, and that will leave more burden on the female head of the household to struggle against increased poverty and negative social repercussions.

Over the last few decades, gender-based violence has been recognized and discussed as a public problem. As a result, a multitude of responses has been identified such as human rights, victim assistance services, health development, and education.

As young adults that will eventually grow into adults that will begin to settle down with families, we can start by educating ourselves on the causes of such violence. We can listen and believe such survivors as they are everywhere even among us. We can help these survivors by standing up for them as society will eventually start to form a negative image of them and try to avoid them. That could take a toll on these survivors' mental health. I hope that, soon, we will hear lesser of such gender-based violence. Thank you.

Good morning everyone, I'm Jamaine and today I'll be talking about the topic on Love. Love is such a strong powerful word. It is an intense feeling of deep affection. One uses this word on their loved ones, passion for certain things, friends or a significant other. However, I strongly believe that in order to love others, one has to love themselves first.

In this day and age living in such a fast paced <del>city </del>lifestyle in Singapore, (link between fast pace and comparing to other is unclear). ...In this day and age where we post almost every single detail of our personal lives online, we are stuck in an endless cycle of comparing ourselves to others. <del>comparisons to one's self and others. </del> People may get insecure, often forgetting that they themselves are worth something. For example on Instagram, you see superficial pictures everywhere, there are people using endless filters in an attempt to look the "same" as a model or a celebrity. These people often loathe themselves in front of the mirror with constant negative self talk and comparing themselves to one who is seemingly perfect, effortlessly beautiful, not knowing us ordinary people and those top class models and celebrities, are not all that different. heavily edited with Photoshop to achieve such unrealistic standards of beauty.

As the saying goes, "The grass is greener on the other side." A person may look at someone and go, "She's so beautiful while I'm looking like a potato", but who knows what they are going through in their own minds? they may be looking at themselves inside <del>towards said person </del>and be thinking the same thing. I truly believe one must have that self confidence and a certain level of self esteem where you know your worth, ignore the haters, focus on yourself while giving others a hand when needed because when you hate yourself, you are losing the person who knows yourself best, you.

Love yourself, love myself. One must also know their worth enough to not settle for anything less than they deserve. One has to reach a certain level of self acceptance and self love in order to properly love others and to give others what they deserve. However, at the end of the day, everyone in your life is temporary, only a part of your life journey. Accept your flaws, because at the end, you only got yourself.

With that I conclude my speech. Thank you.

Good morning teachers and fellow classmates. I am Shaoyun and today I will be presenting about music.
Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. When we listen to music we like, a chemical called dopamine is sometimes released in the brain, which can make us feel good. Music can be life changing too. Sometimes, when I'm sad, I want to listen to sad songs. My choice of songs depends on my mood. In fact, music is like a drug that provides us with feelings of joy and pleasure. Music is a language in that it can represent different feelings and barge into the soul with no boundaries or limitations. People are sometimes challenged by the fact that " noone understands them" or know how they "really feel", so they turn to music. Also, music has the capacity to imitate emotions. For me, I like music because sometimes listening to it makes me happy. Also, listening to music can provide health benefits to those suffering from certain conditions. It has the ability to provide company and comfort. People tend to listen to sad music more often when they are in emotional distress or feeling lonely, or when they are in introspective moods. Sad music can be experienced as an imaginary friend who provides support and empathy after the experience of a loss.
And with that I would like to end my speech thank you all for listening

Good morning Ms Maizura and fellow classmates, I am Jeanette and today i will talking about family.

Family to me is something very close to heart and I feel that everyone deserves a family for a variety of reasons: be it having someone there for you, listening to you or taking care of you. I think that as we are all becoming older, we don’t spend enough time with our family compared to when we were younger. This is especially now as we are teenagers, some of us like to have our own privacy and so we don’t usually open up to our family. This will thus make us feel more distant from <del>them</del> our family and not as close anymore.

This brings me to my second point which is about how I try to make time for my family. This is especially so during this covid situation where we should take the opportunity to spend more time with our family and open up to them more. For example, for my family we tend to have a family dinner every week, sometimes it’s takeaway, other times it’s going to a mall and having our dinner there. Either way, every time we have our dinner, we would always share about what has been going on. Sadly, because of covid we can’t go out anymore and can only have dinner at home. But this has not stopped us from bonding together and instead strengthened our relationship as we get to see one another more frequently. As we can only stay indoors, we also like to have games night where we just sit around and play a game while also sharing what has been happening. I think this has really strengthened my relationship with my family and has really made me learn to cherish them.

In conclusion, I have discussed about the importance of family and how I spend time with mine. Thank you for listening to my speech.

Good morning Ms maizura n fellow classmates. My name is guan Hui. Today imma share about the topic of family.

The most important people in one’s family r parents. Parents consist of both mother n father. The mother plays the role of giving birth to the child while the father plays the role of supporting the family n the role of being a role model. Parents support their child both financially n mentally. Parents all have the same goal when bringing up a child, it is to nurture their children to become successful in life.

In the past, parenting was easier because there were lesser sources of conflict such as cyberspace n life was much simpler. Nowadays, the parent n child might argue over the most trivial things such as examination result.

In the past, parents only had to worry about being able to feed their children 3 meals a day. Even back than providing food was difficult as a lot of families were living in poverty as jobs pay very little back in the day.

Nowadays, parenting is tougher because in modern society, the better one’s result is the better occupation they will have in the future. Because of this parents r worried bout their child’s result and will want to send their child to tuition if the results r below their expectation. Parents will also compare result with other family members which is able to demotivate the child as this makes the child feel inferior.

Good morning Teachers and fellow classmates.I am kangren and today I will be talking about friendship.
To me ,friendship is a bond which connects you to someone who cares for you. This bond is unique if you take time and develop as friendship are not easily found anywhere.
However, I have heard from others that there are two types of friends:Fake friends and true friends.Fake friends are friends who backstab you when they have the chance to do so and they use you for their own benefit.True friends are the opposite of fake friends as they don’t backstab you and even help you. I think that identifying friends who are fake or true is because you are just insecure with the people around you.
Thinking that someone is fake or true might be very dangerous as the lack of trust for your friends might cause a terrible argument with each other. For me, I am blessed with very good friends who are not very reliable but I know they will always be there for me as they will help me if they can. Once I forgot to do my homework, my friend lent me his to copy.I was really touched by this act.And with that I would like to end my sharing

conclusion

Good afternoon ms maizura and fellow classmates im sue ann and today i'll be talking about ghosts .

Ghost is the spirit or the soul of someone that died that can be visible to us livings .The chinese believes that ghost exist in every part on this earth , they can even be found in your room :D Personally i have not encountered with a ghost myself but my family members do have stories to tell . <del>For example ,when they went Tai Pei for a vacation with my aunt , they stayed in this hotel which was just newly renovated . Sleeping in different rooms they each have a story to tell . In the first room they</del> During a vacation, they stayed at a hotel where they occasionally feel that someone is touching their feet when they were sleeping, <del> the second room kept </del> and hearing the shower heads switching on <del>with the loud gush of water ,</del>but when they went to check the toilet it was completely dry .<del>Meanwhile in the other room they were hearing whispers in the middle of the night instructed to clear the extra bed which was filled with items so that "he" would have space to sleep . </del>Meanwhile when they were all packing their stuff ready to leave , my aunt's child stopped them and said that he wanted to say goodbye , rushed to the bedside , lifted up the blanket and said goodbye to the bedsheets . ( yes it is said that toddlers from 3 to 5 can see the spirits and not get scared of it ) Of course this left his parents in shocked and instantly dragged him out of the room to ask him what he saw , and he said that there was a lovely couple that would entertain him in the middle of the night when he couldn't sleep . Therefore, although I myself have not encountered the paranormal, but with all these stories told i believe that such supernatural exist.

<del> After asking the reception about the truth of behind this building , they found out that the hotel was burnt and everyone in it died as well. Thus having encounters with the super naturals .

</del>On the other hand, there are some people who do not believe in the supernatural simply because there is no scientific proof. As scientists believe that we cannot always trust our eyes, ears or brain. Some people said that they were “paralysed to the bed “ and people believed that it is caused by ghost but scientists proves that this happens because “ we were dreaming with our eyes open” , with these scientific prove ,people start to not believe that these paranormal activities exist and it’s all because we were “hallucinating” and thus having people that do not believe in such activities <del>
</del>
In conclusion be careful and don't wander around places that don't seem right to u hope that yall dont encounter with ghosts

with that i'm done with my sharing thank you for listening

hello everyone my name is weilin and today i would be touching on the topic of animal testing.

do you know that the lipstick, eyeshadow, and mascara we use to enhance our appearance have poisoned hundreds of thousands of innocent animals? do you realize that the hairspray, hair gel, and perfume we use to make ourselves look smarter have made hundreds of thousands of animals blind? do you know that the toothpaste, shampoo, and soap we use on a daily basis have killed hundreds of thousands of innocent animals? If you answered 'No,' now is the time for the rest of us to know. Animal testing is not only used to find cures for human diseases; it is also used to test the safety of various products such as daily necessities, cosmetics, and medications. Many animals have died in laboratories in order to create a safe product for us. Numerous animals have been tortured in laboratories to ensure that the products do not harm human health. Numerous animals have been subjected to unbearable aches and pains in laboratories in order to test the safety of new medicines and vaccines to keep humans safe from diseases. Each year, nearly 100 million animals are burned, poisoned, or starved. Each year, nearly 100 million animals are poisoned, driven insane, and deliberately infected with diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and AIDS. Each year, nearly 100 million animals have their eyes removed, their brains damaged, and their bones broken. Each year, nearly 100 million animals are brutally abused, tortured, and slaughtered for human benefit. did they deserve to be treated so cruelly and brutally?

After learning about these devastating facts, we should try to imagine the feeling of animals. They are subjected to live inside a small cage and wait to die in vain. Without animal rights, they lack any control of their own life and have no freedom and forced to be injected with drugs or toxic substances when they had never even done anything. With all that being said , how can we do our part to stop this ? we can stop buying or using the products being tested on animals. We can also raise the awareness of the animals' plights through social media and encourage our family and friends to only consume ethically sourced products.

So, lets us all start caring for our furry friends today .thank you

Good afternoon everyone and my speech today will be on sports.

Sports is important in our lives as it helps us keep fit. One of my favourite sport is floorball as I had been playing the sport since I was in primary school. It helps me relieve stress and build up my confidence. I like playing it with my friends as it helps us build our friendship and teamwork. In primary school, I was in the school team and I was very proud to represent the school for the tournaments. I was surprised that I could still play the sport after a long time after primary school. This goes to show that sports help us gain muscle memory, making us mentally and physically fit.

Another favourite sport I like to play is basketball. I usually play it during my free time and play it more frequently than floorball as basketball is a more common game. Basketball trains my motor skills, so that I can dribble fast and calculate my moves to tackle my opponents. Lastly, it brings my friends and I closer together as the game fosters a strong team spirit and a sense of camaraderie amongst my "brothers".

Lastly, Formula 1 is a sport that I love to watch as I love to watch the cars with their stunning features and the adrenaline of the grand prix circuit. Some famous F1 drivers that I admire are Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton as he is a seven times world champion. Ive always wished that I could be a formula 1 driver but it is almost impossible to be one in Singapore as Singapore does not have such courses. I hope that I can pursue it in other countries one day.

With that I am done with my sharing. Thank You.

Topic: United States vs China
Greet your audience first, intro yourself, state the topic

In the recent years, the tension between the two titans rose on an unprecedented scale. There is competition between these two nations in almost any sectors that you can think of. These issues includes the stiff competition between the two economic giants, the management of the COVID-19 pandemic and politics in their own countries.

Ever since China joined the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in 2001, the economic rivalry between the two countries started. China on one side is gaining a huge advantage over its cheap labour cost as its population is more than 4 times of United States’ which is a boost to mass production of products. The US on the other hand is losing many huge manufacturing companies and it is recorded that over 5 million manufacturing jobs were lost. Some economist in the States thought that this blow would be temporary but some industries like textiles, apparel, furniture & majority of electronics production industries never recovered from the shut down of these factories. In 2019, there were constant debates about if China were to be blamed for the ailing economy of the United States. When China joined the WTO in 2001 under the support of the United States, its GDP grew to $13 trillion USD and United States only increased a total of $11 trillion USD ever since

As debates went on, a pandemic broke out <del>loose</del> and destroyed the global economy system and rampaged economies. Under such devastating circumstances <del>pandemics</del>, you can blatantly see which country is the real superpower. China successfully suppressed the spread of the virus in May 2020 and yet, the United States was still suffering from the terrors of the pandemic.

Another topic I would like to talk about is the double-standards of the American politics. Recently, the United States accused China of caging Uyghurs in concentration camps in Xin Jiang. However, China <del>booted back</del> rebutted by disagreeing with the allegation. The United States used human rights as a weapon to constantly pressurise China, but do they really care about human rights? Or is it just a tool to suppress others? Over the course of 500 years, the United States government carried out bloody genocides on the native Americans which took away millions of innocent lives and the genocide destroyed almost the whole civilisation of the native Americans. As we all know, Afghanistan in the middle-east is an oil rich nation and when wars was raged on Afghanistan on 2001 October 7, the United States destroyed Afghanistan and took away 15 times more lives than ‘911’ took away. Was the United States really worried of the terrorist in Afghanistan or were they more interested in the oil in Afghanistan.?If the United States really cared about human rights, they would have stormed into Myanmar given its current abusive military coup, but only if there was oil.

In this day and age, both China and United States are powerful nations but do the things they do with their powers really affect us? I really hope both powers can find mutual respect and work together for the benefits of the people around the world as even though Singapore is a tiny country, the conflicts between these two superpowers can have disastrous consequences for us all. Thank you

As time went by, many food started to evolve .

Pizza was once known to be eaten without pineapple ,however nowadays, many prefer to eat it with pineapples. I like eating pasta ,theres many different variations of pasta, example there is linguine , bucanti and many others .There is also other pasta dishes that i like such as aglio olio ,cabonara and mac and cheese.Sometimes i even cook my own pasta ,firstly i would boil the water in the pot and add a pinch of salt and olive oil ,then i will slowly put the pasta in and i will then make my favourite garlic chilli prawn sauce ,after the pasta boil ,i will put it on a plate and put the garlic prawn sauce on the pasta and its done .

Thats the end of my sharing

Hello Ms Maizura and fellow classmates. My name is Ernest and today, I will be sharing with you on the topic of music.

Firstly, what is music? To many, music is a form of entertainment that combines sounds together in a way that we like. In fact it is more than that. Music is the aural form of art that is used to express emotions and may even touch the hearts of the listener through rhythm, dynamics, tone and pitch.

Secondly, music can be divided into different genre , for example classical music, pop music, rock music and orchestra music. Personally, I like listening to relaxing music which does not have any vocals. I even tried playing some of the music I have listened to, on the piano. It is such an enjoyment to be playing on the piano as I would like to pursue music study after my secondary school year.

Hence in conclusion, music is a form of art that uses sound organised in time.

Good afternoon Ms Maizura and fellow classmates. I am Syafaah and today I will be talking about YOLO.

YOLO means ‘you only live once’. It refers to taking up the challenge to do something dangerous, embarrassing or one that you may regret. To be honest, I find that it is important to live life and not merely let life pass you by. Thus I do support the YOLO movement as long as you do not put yourself or others in harm’s way.

Well to start off, I will share about my own YOLO experience. It was your typical Sunday however that day was my religious examination. It was my final paper and oral. Honestly speaking I had revised everything for my paper except<del> I had a problem remembering for my</del> for the oral component . <del>Thus I was nervous the whole car ride to school. During the time, it was only me, my younger brother and my older brother who were attending that day since my older sister had another appointment to attend. </del>

<del>Once arriving at the destination, my father drops us off in front of the school gate where there was no one since we came too early in the morning. </del>Both my brother and I were begrudgingly dragging our feet to meet our fate when <del>suddenly </del>my older brother senses our frustration towards the event entirely. Thinking it was a good time he turned to us to ask whether we wanted to ditch the exam. <del>Yes, a matter of fact, he did say. </del>I was baffled by his suggestion while it caught my younger brother’s full attention. Without hesitation, he agreed and they turned away from my bewildered face. <del>their direction to my contemplated face.</del> I was pondering whether or not I should agree because there were many instances that could happen.

Eventually, I picked the option of following them and ditching the examination. I know for a fact that it was morally wrong but I was too caught up in the thrill of doing something wrong and getting away with it. <del>had always wanted to know the feeling of ditching school even more examination</del>. Throughout the duration of my escape, I had butterflies in my stomach due to the anxiety of the principal calling our parents to inform them of our absence. <del>attendance</del>.

However, both my brothers were enjoying the freedom of not doing the exam while I was panicking throughout and waiting for that <del>faithful</del> fateful phone call from my parents. Although it was nerve-racking, I enjoyed the few hours of freedom. Back at home, we all feigned ignorance and I spent my time idling and scrolling through the internet while making small talk <del>or small chat</del> with my brothers. I would occasionally ask my older brother what would happen if we were caught and his response was ‘YOLO’.This did not made me feel at ease at all. <del>That did not settle with me at the very least. </del>

In the end, there was no phone call and my father asked us, ‘how was the class today?’. My older brother casually told him that it went well and fun. I was not amused but I did not correct him either. The guilt in me caused me to choke on my words and not a single sound emitted from my trembling lips. <del>didn’t oppose either. </del>

So would I recommend ditching school?Probably not. Plus it was a small secret that my brothers and I kept from our parents. Though the aftermath was over, we had to retake the exam with our sister who found out about our daring stunt and she was bummed that she wasn’t in it. And that folks, is my speech about YOLO.

good morning Ms maizura and fellow classmates, today I will be talking about the topic of whether Singapore is an almost perfect country.

Growing up in Singapore,I think we have been blessed to have many of our basic needs met.Unlike many countries in the world,we have access to clean water , pollution-free air ,peace and racial harmony,When I travel to other countries,I always feel a sense of pride stirring in me as I walked through the gates of changi airport. Thus, this city has given me so much and it is truly a privilege for me to live here as it can only be a distant dream for many.
However, nothing in the world is perfect.A seemingly perfect country like Singapore does have its flaws With modern amenities and sophiscated lifestyles, the costs of living here is exorbitant.Furthermore, with limited land space and natural resources,Singapore is a highly pressuring society to live in.We compete among each other for everything-better jobs, enrolment into top schools, good grades, housing for the future of ourselves and our family.

Despite this, the pros of living in Singapore outweigh the cons. Singapore <del>also has its positive side of views such as</del> is well-renowned for its famous buildings and historic heritages. For example ,the Jewel structure of Changi Airport is considered an architectural phenomenon in the eyes of the world. Ever since its opening,it has become one of the most visited airports as it has restaurants and shops that can't be found elsewhere in Singapore.<del>Although it is a famous buildings,it took alot of resources and land space to construct it.Hence not making it a fully perfect building</del>.Furthermore, there are other heritage sites such as Chinatoan, Little India and Kampong Gelam which are full of history and culture. Therefore ,I think Singapore is an almost perfect country,. It just has to conserve<del> the amount of</del> land used for further development without the expense of losing our local cuture and heritage. i<del>ntroduction of buildings.</del> With that I end my speech, thank you.

Greet your audience, intro yourself and topic.

What is friendship? Friendship means having a close bond to someone special and someone whom you are comfortable with. They also have to be open to one another, such as being able to tell each other anything, for example, the sharing of problems, or , being honest with each other no matter the cost. These relationships can really strengthen one's perspective on certain situations, For example, if you are about to make certain rash decisions and need someone's advice to make sure you are on the right track, having a good friend there to guide you and correct you is always better than having no one.

Friendships are important, even though you might stumble upon some fake friends on the way. However, having fake friends doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing. Instead, this can be turned into something positive, like, developing new experiences and maturing the way you see and approach these types of 'friends'. This meant that i will not share my problems with them as i no longer find them trusted anymore, but i will still talk or hang out with them and use them for company sometimes. Different people have different ways of dealing with such friends, others would distance themselves away from them. Therefore, my way of dealing with fake friends might not work for everyone.
Personally, in school, Jeanette is my closest friend. She will always have my back no matter what situation I have got myself into, and always listens to my problems and helps to knock some sense into me before making any rash decisions. Having someone to talk to when you are feeling upset is like the greatest feeling ever. Therefore, thank you Jeanette and my close friends for sticking by my side no matter what.

Lastly, I do not think that friendship has to be limited to school friends only. I have in fact met my other close friend online, which i am deeply grateful for. We have shared similar issues such as having problems with making friends that really cared about you. I knew he genuinely cared for me as he was the only one who noticed I was feeling down and stayed with me to chat and listened to my problems patiently without feeling annoyed as most people would not even bother. Even though sometimes we do not chat for a week straight, he would still drop a quick text to check up on me, and never judge me for anything I say or do.
Friends like Jeanette and him gives me a reason to want to wake up early and continue my day with a positive mindset.

As you see, my friends plays a major role in my life, and I treasure and value my friendships a lot. I would do whatever it takes for them to feel happier and therefore, that is my take on the topic 'Friendship', Thank you for your kind attention!

topic: pets

Good morning Ms Maizura and fellow classmates. My name is Janelle and today I will be talking about pets .Have you wondered what it feels like to have an animal companion? Pets are a great blessing in anyone’s life.

They come in many shapes and sizes ranging from the most common ones such as dogs, cats and parrots to the unique ones such as snakes and iguanas. Although they may look different, most of them serve the same purpose - fostering strong relationships with their owners and even become life-long companions. These animals always offer us everything they have without asking for anything in return. The most common pet you can find at anyone’s place is dogs. I myself have a pet dog that I love to bits.

She is a mini toy poodle with brown fur and a short stubby tail. However, behind her innocent demeanor lies her mischievous personality. Known as the ‘resident sock thief’, Brownie loves to collect dirty socks from every nook and cranny of the house and stash it under the dining table. Before we found out about her secret hideout, my family was completely perplexed about the missing socks’ whereabouts until I stumbled upon her sock treasure under the dining table. This is just one of her silly antics but all my family members love her nonetheless.

Even though my dog can be a hassle sometimes, I can't imagine my life without her and with that, I end my speech.Thank you for your kind attention.

Good morning Miss Maizura and classmates. I’m janelle khoo and today I would like to share my thoughts about social media. What is social media? It refers to the areas of interactions among people in which they create, share and or exchange information and ideas in virtual communications and networks. Examples include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram ,YouTube

However parents including my parents dislike social media as they might have their own concerns about it. One common social networking concerns is cyberbullying. It is a issue among youth and teens and these social networking sites provides the perfect place for such incidents to take place. why? no explanation. These sites allow anonymous users to leave nasty, derogatory remarks on...

Another concern of theirs is that they feel the children lack the maturity, experience and wisdom to know what is appropriate on social networking. If the child or teen posts the wrong picture or makes an inappropriate remark, it can follow them for years to come.

Many parents also fear predators and stalkers online. Most importantly parents feel social media is a waste of time as they are concerned that children are spending too much time on social networking and tend to start neglecting their homework or even interacting with their families and friends in the real world.

Although the parents may have their concerns, they can guide them safely in navigating the world of networking. Firstly, they can set an example to limit the time they spend on social media. Secondly, they can also guide them on online safety responsibilities as users. This will enable them to know what information is appropriate to share online and which is not.

As social media is here to stay, with the value of social media marketing and its services to all businesses and especially with the current covid situation, I feel that we should embrace social media for the benefits to reach out to the individuals and society. To reap the full benefits of social media, we must learn to master it and not be enslaved by it/ Thank you.

Good morning Ms Maizura and fellow classmates, today I will be talking about the topic of friends.

Friends in everyone’s eyes are just people whom you’ve communicated and formed a bond with. And usually to form <del>them</del> these friendships it takes a great deal of trust and loyalty even if they aren’t blood related or rather aren’t “family” <del>,</del> So, yes even though people say “blood is thicker than water” this to me is an invalid medieval proverb as my friends are literally my family. This group of souls are the very friends whom I’ve cried to , run to with my problems, spent hours with and made silly mistakes with and grew out of<del> it </del>together<del> </del>. My favourite Spanish saying is “mi amigos , mi familia” which means my friends , my family .
Secondly, with my buddies I’m my most true self and they do not judge me for who I am or what I do. ,<del> </del> My friends value my happy , bubbly personality and they are supportive in things I love doing such as skateboarding , singing, exploring The<del> </del> bold , brave , elegant me .. however with my family, it’s the polar opposite and I am not my true self with my family members. I’m not comparing who is better because no matter what my family raised me so I love both my friends and family equally and there are no favourites .

<del> </del> In conclusion, I stand by my belief in saying that my friends are my truest family because they are there for me when times get rough and they never judge me for who I truly am. This is my take on friendships, thank you for listening!

Good Morning/Afternoon everyone. My name is Zahra and I will be talking about global warming today.

What is global warming? Global warming is the occurrence of climate change caused by the increase in average temperatures of earth which changes weather balance and ecosystems for a long time and is directly linked to the worsening of the greenhouse effect. The average temperature of the planet has increased by 0.8 degree Celsius compared to the end of the 19th century. All of the last three decades have been warmer than all previous decades since the beginning of 1850. At the rate of the current Co2 emissions an increase in average temperature is expected by 2100. If no measures are taken, there would be harmful consequences to humanity and the ecosystem.

There are so many ways to contribute to preventing global warming. Instead of using fossil fuels we can use renewable energies like solar, geothermal, wind and biomass. If more people use public transport instead of our own vehicles which it will definitely help to reduce Co2 emissions. Even using reusable utensils, bottles and boxes contribute to change.

I think that we humans have done so much damage to our earth instead of taking care of it. And we should at least do anything in our power to prevent global warming from worsening as we owe it to our home. Thank you for your attention.

Please include some picture of your favourite Bokken artwork so that we can get a better picture

Good afternoon teachers and classmates. My name is Alden and I am going a share with you about a Japanese traditional handicraft, known as Bokken.

Bokken is single-edged wooden sword, it’s used for training and martial arts such as kendo. There has been a significant price increase in the product. And the creation of the handicraft is currently in a crisis.
Wood shortage and sustainability is one of the major problem in the bokken industry. It appears that the covid-19 pandemic was the cause of this as there was a huge surge in wooden weapons which caused the industry to sell more than 2 times more wooden weapons then usual, this caused weapons to be produced at an alarming rate, using the timber that was intended for the future.
There’s a very high risk that this creation of the handicraft will cease to exist in a few years due to the lack of sufficient materials that are decent enough and given the skyrocketing demand of wooden weapons.
We can only hope that they covid-19 pandemic will eventually come to a stop so that the creation of this handicraft can be normal.
Thank you for your kind atttention.

!!! Xin Yi, can you pls include a short movie trailer for one of your favourite movie of all time as well! Good to put this at the start of the speech!

Good morning everyone, today I’ll be talking about something that interests me and that would be movies. No matter the language I would watch it if the trailer interests me. I love the diversity of themes in the different genres of movies that I like to watch such as Coming-of-age , my favourite film of all time, “You Are the Apple of My Eye” which is an iconic film despite being released 10 years ago belongs to this genre.

My way of relieving stress would be entering the theatres and watching a movie. The atmosphere in theatres makes me feel relaxed and I can have some time alone to enjoy the movie. After leaving the cinema, I would feel energised and my mind is clear as I have left my worries and troubles behind.

Other than this, I feel that going to the movies is also a great family bonding activity. My family and I occasionally watch movies together which gives me more time to spend with my family. Watching movies also allows me to experience their emotions, discuss the storyline together

Sometimes, when I get so engrossed in the film, I will reflect on myself to see how I can become a better person. After watching “Leap”, I learnt to cherish every moment , not leave behind regrets as those are the memories I will look back on and keep for the rest of my life. I will put myself in the shoes of the characters and empathise with them. If the story is held in a historical setting I would really feel like I was there with them living in the past. This also helps to spread awareness for many things by making people experiencing it through someone else’s story to better understand the situation, not just through words but see it with their eyes.

In conclusion, to me, watching movies is not just about wasting money on something that is not a physical item but rather, you pay for an experience that cannot be recreated. Thank you for listening.

Good morning everyone, today I will be sharing about horror. What is horror? Horror is a genre of storytelling that is intended to scare and shock the audience. There is many sub genres of horror but it is often divided into either the psychological horror or the supernatural horror.

Psychological horror focuses on the mind and supernatural horror focuses more on the afterlife. Also, there are different types of horror that people put in a form to scare the audience. For example, horror films such as “The Conjuring”, “Midsommar”, and “Insidious”<del>. I think horror films </del>are quite popular these days as people find it thrilling to watch. Some people like the feeling of getting an adrenaline rush and horror films provide a sense of suspense or mystery. This leads to people wanting to watch more horror films. It also has a distinct element that separates the viewers from what they are watching and reality.

I personally like horror mangas by Junji Ito, his art works are really detailed and you can tell that a lot of time and effort is put into each panel of the story. Some of his art works may be quite disturbing to some people but that is what makes his art unique and that is why i like it.

I have come to the end of my speech.
