2. I expect this course to be enjoyable. I'm not a huge government fan, I don't know much about it and don't have a lot of interest in it. But it seems to be a laid back class and I'm totally willing to work, as long as I can ask questions, I'm good
3. I don't really do politics. I definitely have my own opinions on the matter, however I don't know if I'm misinformed about anything. Also I don't like it because whenever it's brought up, an argument always bursts out and goes up in flames, and I really don't like conflict. I'm not very knowledgeable in this subject, so I don't really feel that I can put my thoughts out there

It was insanely courageous of these women to want to be a part of the supreme court so badly, that they fought that hard to gain equality for the position. I thought it was very interesting when Ginsberg said that she'd rather be a b*tch than a mouse in response to people calling her names. I loved this response because she was saying she'd rather fight for her rights and fight for what she believed in than than sit back and just let it all slide by.

I got more from listening to the video rather than reading it in the book. I like listening to it better because I can hear the correct phrasing and how things are supposed to be said and it helps me understand it better. I'm also not the best reader, so I can't read it very fast or all at once. With the video, I was able to hear it all the way through and I just had a different understanding of it.
My favorite part of the Declaration is probably to preamble because it sounds pretty, pretty enough that there have been songs written about it.

Amendment support?

I would support an amendment that made burning the American flag unconstitutional. I agree with it because it's the national flag, it's the actual representation of our country and to damage the flag, to me, seems like a disrespect to everything our country is about.

Mr Smith Goes to Washington

1.) I thought it was very brave of Smith to go through and be a senator and hold his ground even though he was doubted by a lot of people. It was very impressive that he talked for so long about his case. It showed he was very passionate about his position. I also noticed from the movie, that politics is a ruthless business to get into. Payne was willing to do almost anything to throw Smith under the bus just to get his way and keep his own corrupt plan running.
2.) I'm not an expert on the different political parties and what the believe in, but I'll give it my best guess. Mr Smith is not corrupt, he's caring and wants to build a Boys Camp for the children. I think he could be a Democrat because he asked the national government to fund the Boys Camp instead of asking for local funds. People weren't nearly as liberal as they are today. However even though the Democratic Party now is very different from how it was back then, I think he'd be a Democrat either way. Smith would be a Democrat because he was a humanitarian and that's one of the Democrat characteristics.
3.) I could compare Smith to Mark Kirk because they both became a Senator under special circumstances. Mark Kirk had a special election and Smith was appointed into the position. They're also similar because they both fought corruption while in office.
