         <title>Ada Lovelace
Augusta Ada Byron 1815-1852. Became Augusta Ada King when she married William, 8th Baron King.
Buried next to her father Lord Byron in Hucknall Nottinghamshire.
Recognised as the first computer programmer for her work on Charles Babbage&#39;s Analytical Engine, when she realised it could do more than number crunching. This is controversially disputed by some who claim she is merely a prophet of the computer age.
Ada is commemorated with a blue plaque in St James&#39;s Square, London and council owned office space named after her in Kirkby in Ashfield, Notts where she spent her infancy.
