This was made up of a company store, a headframe and other essential services for the people who worked there.

It was closed due to the opening of new mines and currently its company store has been restored and its use is for cian-m scholarships whose workshops are held in summer.

This monolith was inaugurated on the 29th of November 2003. Promoted by the  

Asociación Guerra y Exilio and Ocero Vive. It is located behind the town’s church. This monolith is in memory of the anti-Franco guerrillas, two of them known as "Gallego" and the other "Andaluz" who were killed in an ambush on February 24, 1949. The monument will honor his memory and that of all the victims of Francoism and of those who «gave their lives for freedom and democracy and that the transition left in oblivion». The two fallen men belonged to the group of the mythical Manuel Girón and during the shooting Francisco Martínez Quico, former link of the guerrillas who had had to lie in the bush, was also injured.   

  

November 2007. It is located in the Plaza de la Encina, in the place occupied by the repression in the Guardia Civil barracks. This was the initiative of the Domingo Malagón Foundation, Madrid. On the plate of this monolith is written:  

  

"To all the women and men who suffered repression in this region for defending the legitimacy of the Second Spanish Republic; who lived in fear and were persecuted for believing that another freer, more righteous and secular society could be built."

2007, like the one in Plaza de la Encina. It is located on the Reguera mount also known to the inhabitants as Los Barracones. The Barracks were concentration camps for political prisoners brought almost all from outside between 1941/45. On the plate of this monolith we can see a few names of the men who passed through the labor camp. Below these we find the following text:    

   

"And up to 250 men who remain anonymous, for defending freedom, democracy and the legitimacy of the Second Spanish Republic against those who rose up against it. All of them  were sentenced to prison and to redeem their sentence by working in this mine, between 1941 and   

1945. Suffering all kinds of hardships."    

   

• Finally, we will talk about a monolith located in Ocero del Bierzo, called "La Guerrilla". 

An event that is also remembered today is the accident that took place in 1984 in the town. This misfortune put safety measures at the pits at risk. The tragedy occurred when the first shift of Fabero miners, belonging to the Rio de Fabero group, had just started work. There was an explosion of firedamp, which had been accumulated throughout the weekend and caused a tremendous fire that ended with the lives of eight miners, since some had more than 85% of their bodies burned. In 2008, a tribute was paid to the miners who died in this accident.
