         <description><![CDATA[<div>The ‘Jhelum’ is the only river in the Indus river system that originates from Jammu and Kashmir (from Sheshnag Lake near Berinag). It flows through Srinagar and Wular Lake before entering Pakistan through a deep narrow valley. It joins the Chenab near Jhang in Pakistan. This river flows almost parallel to the border of India and Pakistan. It's length is 725km.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

It passes through Shipki La on the Himalayan ranges and enters the plains of Punjab. <strong><em><br></em></strong><br></div><div>It is a very important tributary as it feeds the canal system of the Bhakra Nangal Project.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
