For workload, I used to have a lot of work in my home country, I did a lot of drilling exercises, workbooks, essays and tests. The school thinks that workload can improve performance. But when I arrived in the UK, there is so little workload that it feels like there is no work at all. We just have to care about the studies ourselves.

Friendship is easier to build up in my home country, because of the large class size, people have a chance to know each other better, we see each other everyday, and have lessons together. While in the UK, class sizes are a lot smaller, it feels like I am restricted. Outside class, I also got more friends in my home country, it is just easier to make friends overall.

I found out that general English is a lot more useful in daily life, it is really helpful for conversations and informal writing or even reading. I enjoyed the process of learning general English so that I can apply what I learnt to use in life. I also do enjoyed learning academic English, it makes me richer in vocabularies and also helped me in a lot of formal writing and essays. I learnt vocabs that I have never known before and the power of academic English is really powerful that it can changes a persons' view on you just by looking at your writing.

I found out that general English is harder for me to learn than academic English. In academic English, there is usually more memorizing of a certain type of writing method of how you speak with academic English words which I found it is a lot easier for me as it involves a lot more memorizing.

General English is a pretty wide area so I may need to dig deeper into it to learn how you usually communicate with people in English. There is like a lot of different words to use in different situations, sometimes you use synonyms to express your words in a different way. In school, I was taught by practicing and usually reading more about the area that we are focusing on, sometimes it could be something that i have absolutely no knowledge about, and sometimes it could be so easy that I can complete it in 5mins. Overall, learning English is quite fun and enjoyable.

 

In school, the teachers taught us by using paper notes, computer PowerPoints and sometimes explaining and writing on the whiteboard. It is quite different from what I was taught before as there is a lot more freedom in here that you need to do actions on your own to achieve better results. I need to learn more about how to be independent as I will be living mostly on my own during my studies, but sometimes I do go out with some friends and have fun together.

I am currently studying the Science and Pharmacy Foundation programme in the college, the modules includes English, IELTS as I did not get a satisfactory score to enter good universities, Pure Maths, Biology, Chemistry, CIT and physiology. There are a couple modules that I still haven't started lessons on but I think I will be fine with them. But one of my doubt is that the subject that I wanted to study in university actually have nothing to do with chemistry and maybe a little related to biology, I am feeling pretty strange that this course can get me into the course I applied for the universities.

Difficulties

The subjects that I study can be divided into three main groups, English, Maths and Sciences. English is the easiest one for me as I have solid English background even though my mother tongue is not English. I guess that should be good teaching in school. So I don't really need to study as hard as studying other subjects. For maths, generally it is pretty easy and basic although there are some new concepts that I need to learn, but it is a piece of cake just with a little bit of work. The hardest part of my studies is the Science module, I have learnt biology pretty well in my previous school but I found it is a little more complicated here, so I do need a lot more work to get it done. Chemistry is a hell for me, I have only studied about the basics of chemistry 2 years ago and everything that the teacher taught in class seems like I knew nothing about it. I have been working really hard to catch up with chemistry, every time when the teacher has moved to the next topic I have just Cleared my concept about the last topic. I have bought a textbook for revising chemistry and it has helped me out a lot with the concepts that I don't know.

Sum

During the term, I have developed more friendly towards teachers and we talked about life in here and studies as well. Me and my classmate have more things to talk about and lessons get more fun than before.

Overall. If you are Fallout series fans from day one, maybe you will got a litle bit dissapointment in term of RPG element, main story, choice matter dialogue in this game. But, If you are looking for games that has character creation, building and manage something, open world, somewhat immersive gameplay and environment, and high replayability/replay value. I recommend this game.

Conclusion

Rocket League is an amazing game. You know those games that you play while you should be going to bed? That's this game. Only 90 minutes into the game, and i've already had so much fun with it. I would honestly reccomend this game to anyone. Unless you REALLY hate soccer, and you simultaneously REALLY hate cars.
