         <description><![CDATA[<div>Differentiating Process: activities in which the student engages in order to make sense of or master the content</div><ul><li>ELA Tip: Allow your bookclubs choice over their assignments. Different clubs can set different goals regarding the number of pages to be read for an assignment. Additionally, the students' discussions make take different paths as the students make their way through their books. Give them choice!</li><li>Math Tip: Allow students to express their mathematical thinking using different types of models. For example, to illustrate the fraction 1/4, some students may draw a circle divided into 4 parts with 1 part shaded. Other students may draw a number line from 0 to 1, divide it into 4 parts, and shade one part. </li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Providing a variety of different math manipulative allows students to come to an answer their own way. I recently was told about online iTools and they have really helped some of my struggling learns be able to express their thinking. I have also noticed that my higher level students are actually using the tools now and are better able to explain their reasoning.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We like to teach students multiple strategies for multiplying and dividing so that students then can make a choice on which they are most comfortable and confident using.&nbsp; Yesterday and today, we reviewed those strategies whole group, then had students make a choice on which they preferred so that they stuck with that specific one for the day in the lessons.&nbsp; We broke into groups accordingly, and made models and other items available to refer to during this time as well.&nbsp; This also helps us to hone in on students who need further differentiation!</div>]]></description>
