“Even the most vocal supporters of GM technology admit it won't solve world hunger. "There's no technical fix," says Monsanto's Dr Colin Merritt. "The causes are political and distributional." But he points out that world population is projected to increase to trine billion by 2050. "That's 50 per cent more mouths to feed, and we don't have any more land on which to grow the food," says Merritt. "We have to get crop production up."(Geographical)

According to Geographical Magazine, the release of a new technology called “GM” which is a cheaper method to producing more food for farmers. The idea creates a tastier food that is more affordable. It would benefit the developing countries because of the high nutritional content and also the boosts of vitamin A. This should “affect more than 200 million children worldwide”(Geographical). This product is believed to help lower the levels of malnourishment although it cannot cure the issue by itself due to political and social reasons.

Model Lauren Bush is the founder of an organization called FEED. This company/charity sells different items such as bags and jewelry and uses the proceeds to feed children in 63 countries. Every item they put for sale also tells you how many meals you would be providing if you were to purchase that item. Bush’s organization also helped farmers get access to things like irrigation pumps, tractors, and grain storage bins to help them produce more food and keep it fresh. Feed recently hit its 100 millionth meal mark, so, Lauren decided to go an extra mile and also help out U.S food banks and soup kitchens. She contributed food items, like coffee, and with each purchase of a snack or a drink, a meal is provided to someone in need. She also came up with the idea of FEED dinner parties where people get together, have a meal, and donate money to help make sure that those less fortunate than them can do the same. The FEED organization has helped many people, both foreign and domestic, and continues to do so with each day.

Studies show that over 795 million people around the world dont get enough food to eat every night. That number is increasing due to many factors such as climate change, overpopulation, and the effects that livestock take on agriculture. Scientists are finding ways to try make sure that people get the nutrition they need, despite all the things that are causing there to be less food available. They have created a powder, essentially a protein and carbohydrate powder, made purely out of energy, rather than food ingredients. It is believed that in about 10 years or so, the technology they need to be able to make mass amounts of this powder will be available to them. Although it is not solid food, it contains enough nutrition to keep people feeling full and strong. This could be the answer to world hunger as we know it.

This shows the alarming rate that world hunger is increasing at. Wages have declined in some places causing the problem of hunger to rise. Finding food has become a major concern for many Americans in the past few years. One in six people say they have run out of food atleast once a year compared to European countries which is closer to one in 20.

Our natural resources right now are being rapidly degraded. Climate change puts even more pressure on these resources that we depend on so greatly. Key soulutions in hunger and poverty eradication are the food and agriculture sector. Globally one in nine people are suffering from hunger and are undernourished. That’s 815 million people which is crazy and a serious problem. Poor nutrition causes nearly half of the deaths in children under age five which is 3.1 million children per year .

World hunger is a problem that we have faced for a very long time now. Since 1990 the amount of people in extreme poverty has reduced by over half. However that hasn't soled the problem, and many people still suffer every day. 66 million young children attend school hungry every day all over the developing world. Aisa is the continent with the highest number of starving people. Southern Asia faces the greatest hunger burden with about 281 million undernourished people. Overall there is a serious world hunger issue no matter how we have improved we still have much more to fix.
