Here is the Math situation for all the UC campuses:
    • UC Berkeley--Required
    • UC Davis--Required for BS only, not required for BA
    • UC Irvine--Required for Psychology BA(discontinued after this year) and BS, but not required for Psychological Science BA
    • UC Los Angeles--Required for Psychobiology BS, but not required for Psychology BA
    • UC Merced--Not required
    • UC Riverside--Required for both BA and BS
    • UC San Diego--Required for all Psychology BS degrees, but not required for BA
    • UC Santa Barbara--Required
    • UC Santa Cruz--Required
    *Please note: the higher math may not necessarily be required to be admitted to the school but is required to graduate from the major/be competitive for admissions. Please see a counselor for more information on the exact courses needed.

Besides checking out the UCs that don't require additional math, you can complete the AAT-Psychology and transfer to a CSU. You do not need to complete more than Statistics to do this.

In order to register for these courses, you do not need to ask for any special permission--as long as the course has not yet begun, you can register for the course right now. You can see late-start classes listed by the month they start here: Late-Start Classes Here are steps you can follow to search for courses in the schedule:

    Step 1: Click Here--Course Schedule Search and choose "Course Schedule Search"
    Step 2: Select Campus and Term
    Step 3: Look for where it says "Course Start Date Between" and enter two dates. For example 03/07/2022 and 04/06/2022
    Step 4: Select a subject our course 
    Step 5: Select "Show Open Courses Only"
    Step 6: Click Search 
    Now you will be able to see all of the courses that are currently open and begin with the date range you imputed.

    Over 150 scholarship awards are being offered through the DVC Scholarship program this year.  Amounts range from $500-$5,000, and scholarships are available to students who are continuing their studies at DVC or transferring to a four-year college next fall.  

    To be considered for a scholarship, students must be enrolled at least half-time in both the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.  In addition, students must:
     submit a complete DVC scholarship application, write a 500-word essay, upload an unofficial DVC transcript, secure two recommendations (at least one from a DVC faculty member)

     Scholarship essay writing workshops are being offered on February 3 and February 7, and there are people available to assist students with the application process.  Please encourage students to apply for scholarships and to contact me at 925.969.2094 or scholarships@dvc.edu if they have questions or need assistance! 
    ]]>     2022-01-30 06:03:04 UTC https://padlet.com/tharrison80/psychology/wish/2019662512     Emergency Grant Available to DVC students tharrison80 https://padlet.com/tharrison80/psychology/wish/2019662907 Emergency grants are available to students enrolled for the spring semester that have not yet received funding.  To be considered for a $1000 grant, students need to complete the COVID-19 Emergency Grant application online.  To qualify a student must demonstrate  the need for emergency aid to assist in paying for the cost of attending DVC or unexpected expenses as a result of the transition to remote classes and services due to COVID-19. If a student previously received the base award of $1000 during the fall semester and are in need additional emergency aid, they may complete the Request for Additional Funds application. For more information, please review the COVID-19 Emergency Grant webpage.
     
    In addition to HEERF III funds, students will be invited to apply for a student funded emergency grant program by submitting the DVC CA Emergency Financial Assistance Application. To qualify a student must be a CA resident, eligible for CA Promise Grant A or B, be enrolled in 6 units, and have at least a 2.0 GPA or be an active DSS student.  Students that meet this criteria will be emailed directly with a link to the application.
