<title>(5B) Beavers are also known as ecosystem engineers, they are responsible for physically altering habitats by cutting down trees, building dams, digging canals and building lodges. &quot; In doing so, beaver change the distribution and abundance of many other animals and plants, mostly by indirect interactions.&quot;</title>

<title>(5C) Hynes states &quot; Not surprisingly, this rate of beaver killing was not sustainable. By the early 1800s, the beavers were long gone from New York City, all killed off by trappers.&quot;</title>

<title>(5D)This evidence explains how the Beavers are responsible for the land that we live on today. Without Beavers water levels would drop and we would have a limited food supply, thus not large enough to feed all 8 million people in NYC today. This supports my stance as to why a banned should be placed on hunting of Beavers. </title>
