I think students might assume that teachers may assign reflections but don't really value them/give feedback on them. Filler exercise/assessment.

My assumption, sometimes, is that reflections aren't deep enough unless we keep asking questions to refine our thoughts and connect those thoughts to our experiences and emotions.

Reflection is a process of learning that needs to cultivated and cared for, not treated as an afterthought or last activity.

Big wish for future understanding: To help us with cultivating vulnerability in the classroom. Students can sometimes seem very hesitant to share their thoughts or reflections (with each other and with prof.) even when trust and transparency has been provided.
