I wake up from my cozy bed and feel so glad that I still live in the city called Victoria, where I have been living for almost seven years. Victoria is known as a popular tourism destination, including attractions of Butchart Gardens, afternoon tea at The Empress and Chinatown, etc. Many visitors come here during the summer to run away from either the hot weather or city chaos. For me, Victoria is more than a getaway option; in fact, here is my second home. The restaurant I work at is called Machi Sushi, it is a Japanese restaurant operated by a Chinese couple since 2013. 
    Our restaurant consists of 6 people, one sushi chef, Andy; two kitchen staff, Kevin and Jiang; and three servers which are Stephy, Chloe and me. Although we are a small restaurant with only 35 seats, everyone works their best which makes us a good team. Our location is close to the Cadboro Bay, the residents around here is our targeted market. Also, if you are wondering, Machi means town in English, so we are literally a sushi town.
    As a server, my duties include:
·      Prepare tables with special attention to sanitation and order
·      Attend to customers upon entrance
·      Present menus and help customers select food/beverages
·      Take/serve orders and answer questions or make recommendations for other products
·      Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen staff
·      Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude

Even though I have been living in Victoria for quite a long time, I don't feel I know this city well enough. In summer time, this city is getting busy because of the tourists. And almost every visitors put afternoon tea at The Empress on their must-do list when they come to Victoria. What I did the same was I spoiled myself to have an afternoon tea with my family at The Empress for the first time ever. However, I have to say it was so expensive! Some people say Victoria is boring, but I say they don't know about this city.
