The position that I take on this controversy, is against building a pipeline through the Missouri River and through a sacred burial ground. I believe this becasue that land is all of those people's home. I think that we don't have the right to just take away something of theirs especially becasue it is also their home. Some evidence that this decision is bad is that the people who are currently living in that sacred burial ground said that they are worried about water pollution, and oil has already leaked which is proof that the pipeline is not 100% safe.

The Mississippi River runs through or along 10 states, Minnesota to Louisiana and give water to all of them. If the Dakota pipline contaminates the water a lot of people won't have water or will get sick from the water. That's why the dokota pipline shouldn't go across the river.

After reading and seeing both sides of this decision I think that they shouldn't run oil through the pipeline. I think this because it is effecting people and the environment. What would happen if the oil spills from the pipes? Well, people's water would be contaminated because it runs really close to the Missouri River. I also think it is really important to preserve inns from the past like the Native American sacred burials. This is why I think we shouldn't have a giant oil pipeline runny through our country.

I like the idea of a pipeline and saving a ton of money, but not if it means runnng through someone's water supply and sacred burial sites. Plus, why can't we just make another route for it where it won't go through the river? The Native Americans own that land, and if they don't want a pipeline there, it shouldn't be there.

The Native Americans were the first ones in North America and when the first day an explorer took step on it he declared that he found the land and now it is his. In the CNN video it shows how little there is of Native American land left because when the young kids was adopted he found his birth parents in the camp. This shows that the camp is one of the only places for the Native Americans to go. This is why I think that they should not build the pipeline

That would cause an even bigger problem than having to transport the oil on trains. If the river gets contaminated, it could kill many plants, fish, wildlife in general. Also, that's certain people's water source. For example, the native Americans use that river not just as drinking water, but for crops, and even more.

I believe that the Dakota pipeline should not exist, becase it will hurt the native tribes, and will affect the water cleanliness from a Missouri River tributary, and the water in a nearby major lake! Also, the construction will cross many sacred sites, and possibly dig up burial grounds, and nobody wants to disturb the dead.

I think that the Dakota pipeline was a good idea at first, but turned into a mess. Because the pipeline goes through the native Americans sacred stuff and it could potentially pollute their water it shou,d go off line. Even though it's already bean built and ruined their sacred ground it could still pollute the water. I do think it was a good idea so they should move it.

I believe that the Dakota pipeline should not continue because our earth has already taken a lug damage from us like the man said in the video. "The watar won't be blue, it will be black and brown". We should not continue buildimg the pipeline for mother natures sake.

I believe that the Dakota pipeline should be stopped. I believe this because the pipeline goes through a river and sacred buriel grounds. This could be really bad because if the pipe breaks and its around the river it could contaminate the clean water. It would also be bad if the pipe went through sacred buriel grounds because, that is a sacred thing that is part of a culture, and we shouldn't just cut through it so we can put a pipe through it. That is why I think the Dakota pipeline should be stopped.
