1) In my opinion Belgium is doing their best. This is a situtation no one is prepered for and no one thinks would ever really occure. Our social security system is a great one and this has been proven once more. That the communication from the government and their powerpoints are not that great is also a fact. But this has nothing to do with our healthworkers and what they are doing. So it's not because the communication is not that great that the decisions and actions aren't great either. These are hard decisions and there's a lot at stake. If they make the wrong ones it could cost a lot of lives.

2) From what I believe, I don't think technologie makes people lazy. Often parents think that because their kids game a lot that it makes them lazy because they don't want to do anything else. I think that's not the case. I think it's the addiction that makes people "lazy" or just not in the mood to do anything else. When people are addicted to whatever you can be addicted to, they don't feel like doing anything else. And this is often seen as lazy. As technology is a big thing in young people's life, people think it's just the technology that makes them lazy, when it's actually the addiction.

1) I totally agree with Aruélie! In times of crisis, it is difficult to keep a country stable in all respects. Nevertheless, I think that Belgium is very committed to its population. In terms of both physical and mental health, Belgium does everything possible. There is a nice balance between giving and taking. The government is committed and the population thanks them in their own way. In this way you notice that everyone of the population is committed in their own way during these coronation times. First of all we have to thank the care workers in the hospitals enormously, I think we underestimate their work. Belgium came up with the great initiative to go out and applaud every evening. We should also not forget all the people who do volunteer work. Just think of people who produce mouth masks or who voluntarily help out in care. It's a very difficult time for everyone and I think there are a lot of opportunities on TV to keep you busy. I'm thinking of workouts, quizzes... Belgium is doing well and we see a positive evolution. If there's one thing that makes me feel worse, it's the communication about the relaxation of the measures. The conferences are very unclear.

2) I can go along with Aurélie's point of view. But still, I think technology makes you lazy. Everything is so easy over the internet. Times have changed. About 50 years ago, technology had little or no impact on young people, because it became almost unaffordable. When one wanted to see or hear each other, one had to take his bike. Now all this has become much easier. With one push on the button you hear and see your best friend on the other side. The same goes for example with shopping. Online shopping didn't exist before so you had to go to the store. Now you can order everything online and it will be delivered to your home the next day. The internet and technology has made everything so easy, making people lazy. I can also understand that many people don't see that as lazy, because they're used to it, they know nothing else.

1) I share the opinion of Luna. I think the government took wise decisions. It took a lot of courage to close all the schools, firms and shops. As we take a look on the road and in the supermarkets, it seems that the people respect the guidelines rather good. They take distance and the roads are almost empty. I am glad that politicians especially listen to expert opinions and the virologists. Of course there will be a lot of economical consequences, but public health is more important. Hopefully people will think twice in the future before they get in the car for sometimes useless trips.

1) Firstly, this is a situation none of us have experienced yet. It's difficult for us, the people at home, for adapting our lifestyle to stop COVID-19, but it is also difficult for our government to whom is given the enormous task to save our country. With this in the back of our mind I think our gouvernment is doing a pretty good job. They try to do their best at limiting the damage and finding the best solution to solve this task. Ofcourse not everyone is satisfied with the measures they made but if you look at the statistics, the number of death and infected are decreasing, so I think that they're doing a good job. However it is not done yet. After COVID-19 they need to "rebuild" our country, economy and most importantly they need to prevent another outbreak from happening. According to me the gouvernment has done a good job of containing the virus but there is still a long way to go. I agree with Aurelie that they have done a poor job communicating the measurerments to the people at home which caused a lot of confussion. If they work on that, and I'm sure they are going to, they have done a perfect job. However, where the gouvernment is doing a great job of seeking the right measurements, the people at home are slowly giving up. When I go outside to run I see people everywhere sitting on benches, on the grass,... People are fed up with the quarantaine, but this not the time to stop following the measurements. We can almost see the light at the end of tunnel so we shouldn't give up. If we really want to show our respect to the caretakers, volunteers, ... We should stay at home and follow the instructions given by the gouvernment. This would really thank them instead of applauding every night.
To summerise I think Belgium is doing a great job of dealing with this situation, besides some little points that could be done better I would call this a perfect adaptation on a crisis.

1) I completely agree with Aurélie, it is indeed a situation that no one saw coming and we were not at all prepared for this. It's hard as a country to know what to do in such an unusual situation. It is true that communication can be improved and that everything is a bit unclear, but I am sure they are doing their best. They've taken all the measures they could, going into complete lockdown is bad for the economy but the health and lives of the citizens are more important.

2) I have to disagree with Aurelie and say that technology makes us lazy. If I think of technology I don't just think about our smarthphones, TV's,... but I also think about dishwashers, cars,... The technology has made a great leap in 100 years time and I'm certain that it has made our lives easier, which is the sole purpose of technology. Are we still washing our clothes by hand or are we still cycling/ walking to our destinations? All of the technology has caused that we could do things easier, and this caused that we have more free-time that we can spend with even more technology. Of course not everyone is lazy but I would say that technology has made our lives very easy and this causes some people to be lazy.

2) I am of the opinion that technology can make young people lazy. The way I see it is that technology is becoming more and more efficient and it makes everthing a lot easier, which is a good thing but we are going to do less ourselves and leave everything to the technology. I think Luna has set a good example about online shopping. A lot of people, including me, have been shopping online a lot more lately because it's easier. We don't have to go to the city anymore but we can order everything from the comfort of our couch. But I strongly believe that it is more the addiction we have that makes us more lazy. We spend hours on our phone, computer,… and because of that we often don’t feel like doing other things. I would say that technology is something positive, even though it can be addictive and makes us lazy.

2) I see Axelle's point because you might think that electronics make young people lazy. Swiping all day in your lazy chair isn't exactly the right way to get in shape. But luckily you can use smartphones and smartwatches to go running and to work out. The devices contain the music you like, they check your heartbeat and monitor your performance. On Social media or platforms like youtube you can find thousands of different workouts. Bluetooth headphone make running or working easier. You will also find a lot of apps that register your activity during the day. Checking your screen time is also very useful to avoid passive use of your electronic device. Like most things, it all depends the way you deal with it. So in my opinion electronic devices do not necessarily make you lazy or overweight.

In short, I could conclude that everyone has the same opinion about how the Belgian government is working. Belgium has never experienced a situation like this before, but still they can arrange everything well. Many people do their utmost to follow the measures and the aid workers are often thanked for their hard work. Opinions are divided about the fact that technology may make us lazy. Aurélie, for example, is convinced that it is more about an addiction and that this does not necessarily have anything to do with technology. Axelle and Senne, on the other hand, are convinced that all-round technology makes our lives easier, so that people immediately become more lazy. This debat doesn't mean that we can't agree with someone else's point of view!

There is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the measures taken in Belgium. Only few people know what they can and cannot do.I understand it's very difficult for the government, but I expect a little more clarity.I also think that there is a lot of uncertainty in the field of education, how will it go on at school? Will we get exams of everything? ... But i also agree with Aurélie, I understand how difficult it is for the government in these times

2) I think technology can make young people lazy in some ways. Especially gaming, series and social media are the most addictive for young people. Many can't stop and therefore will be less active in real life. Still, I think our generation is certainly not lazy. We, young people mainly use technology as a source of inspiration. Above all, technology makes our lives easier. Just think of the live lessons in this quarantine, that wouldn't be possible without technology. And these live lessons don't make us lazy, they make us active... Our generation of young people also do a lot of sports, so that compensates. I really believe that most young people use the technology wisely and that they can turn off the screen in time. So to be honest I don't know very well myself, I know a lot of young people are addicted to technology and that's a sad fact but I also know that most young people use the technology in a smart way and can get a lot out of it this way.
