         <description><![CDATA[<div>The "dream" mentioned in the story is a vision for your future. Once this is established, the rest of the poem seems to be fairly clear. Hughes is asking what happens to the dreams of someone whose dream was denied (deferred). The "someone" in this situation is representative of the minority groups in America. They don't have many ways to accomplish their dreams, as the jobs they want are most likely reserved for whites - the majority.&nbsp; He writes this poem to prompt thoughts in the majority about the minority.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
