In 1944 it was revived with the new name of Wayside Waifs. Fenby Webster was the founder of the shelter. Through donations soon Wayside Waifs was able to purchase a 20 acre farm for the animals to run around and live on until adopted. In December of 2012 Wayside Waifs their newly renovated and expanded shelter. They cared for about 6,500 pets in need and could shelter about 800 at a time. I had to be flexible, I had to change ideas, and I had to abandon ideas throughout this project. At the start of this project I thought it was going to be very hard. I thought I wasn't going to be able to keep up with all the work. But now I realize that even though some of it was challenging it was also fun. I learned lots about how different organizations and donation center work throughout this project. This project has changed me for the better. Now I know how easy it is to set up a wish list or a donation box for different organizations.
There were many fun parts of this project like contacting our organization and creating our padlet. There were also many challenging parts of this project like getting people to buy stuff off your wish list and doing hours of service for the organization. I hope that in high school I will look back on this project and I hope it motivates me to do more service.
Overall this was a very fun and challenging project. I hope to do more service in the future and help more and more people. I recommend that you try doing service for others, I assure you that it feels good to help others.
