One out of five kids claim being bullied in school, about 46% of those kids report notifying a teacher or staff member about this; though telling an adult about the discrimination is the best option, it's not always another student the one that's doing the discrimination it can sometimes be a teacher, this makes it harder to tell others.

Causes and effect: cp49503 https://padlet.com/cp49503/naw2w5qkmt9subvf/wish/1193531948 LGBTQ+ kids are nearly twice as likely to be called names and or have to deal with harassment from their peers, this can be horrible for their mental health, as psychological research has shown that discrimination can cause anxiety and or stress. The human rights campaign, and the researchers at the University of Connecticut, conducted a national survey of more than 12,000 LGBTQ+ teens (aged 13 through 17) nearly 8 in 10 kids said that they felt depressed in the past week, and only a quarter say that they feel safe at school. Happiness is necessary for kids to grow and because of this, Mental Health America conducted research providing info that only 37% of LGBTQ+ kids report being happy while 67% of non-LGBTQ kids report being happy, this is bad because it can create an unbalanced mental state leading to LGBTQ+ kids being 4 times more likely to attempt suicide.

I look around searching for a seat when I notice an open seat at one of the sides of the auditorium, and walk towards it, as I'm about to sit down a school administrator looks at me and tells me that I have to change into a dress in order to stay in the ceremony, amazed by what he says, I look at him thinking that there's nothing wrong with the way that I'm dressed and that I won't change. I leave the Ceremony not willing to comply, and they take off my name from the board of graduates. I walk out of the ceremony furious at the school administrator, why should he decide what I'm gonna wear? I think as I wait outside the school for my friends.

Problem/Solution cp49503 https://padlet.com/cp49503/naw2w5qkmt9subvf/wish/1194385472 Some kids are afraid to tell their parents or peers about being LGBTQ+ as they fear being discriminated against, or not accepted. 8% of all high school students report being part of the LGBTQ+. 70% of all LGBTQ+ students say that they have been bullied because of their sexual orientation; because of this, there are several people that are standing up and fighting for change. as well as in social media there are people protesting in the streets and going on marches, and even some organizations that help such as the ACLU (or the American Civil Liberties Union) that seeks to ensure freedom to every gender, race, and sexual orientation. Or the GLBT national center which is a non-profit organization that seeks to meet the needs of the LGBTQ+ community. The GLBT national center began in 1996 and has more than 15,000 local resources for cities and towns across the country.
