I enjoyed tying this lesson into the Digital storyline game because their was a good balance of independent engaging activity(the piece they created), student engagement(the discussion they had about having their work"stolen", and facilitator/student engagement (discussion about each activity we experienced). I felt there was a tangible sense of which kids could get really personalize and internalize the issue I was trying to illustrate for them regarding copyright.

As for becoming a Common Sense Educator, I feel a little more legitimized as a librarian. I like that we have some set curriculum to turn to that are seen as best practices and creditable by the education profession. I knew what the digital world is changing our entire world, and I even think I knew many of the components that are changing our world through digital/computer usage, but I didn't KNOW, really know and understand the impacts positive and negative. Common Sense presents things--serious things in a very positive, yet not sugar coated way. I am very happy to have some guidelines and references to turn to that I know are vetted and credible.
