         <description><![CDATA[<div>I read the second article with the different types of voice- I wanted to address the last type of voice- Evaluative (student feedback) In Yonkers the students (and there is a parent survey, as well) complete the University of Chicago Impact Survey.&nbsp; What is done with that information? How does it go into future planning?&nbsp; I do think evaluative is informative in class lessons, but when we talk about voice in a larger scale, how effective is it?</div>]]></description>

They are more likely to engage and take ownership of their learning. They will be more motivated if they feel they have a voice.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think giving students choice allows them to show where they thrive.  A genius isn't just someone who is a brilliant physicist or surgeon. Your mechanic can be a genius.  A professional athlete is a genius at their sport.  And the reason they have been able to develop these skills is because they have been given a choice.  We all excel in the areas that we enjoy.  Students who otherwise may not get good grades may flourish when given a choice in what they are learning or how they present their learning. </div>]]></description>
