I would use oral storytelling in a classroom by making connections to the connect and creating a creative and unique way to share it with the students, hopefully making it more memorable. (elementary)

I feel that oral stories allow for an environment that allows the children to more engaged in their learning. Potentially letting them make their own oral stories and share them is a way to have them gain knowledge in a fun way, with some of their own input into the knowledge they are receiving.

My grandma is a storyteller in my life. While growing up she would always tell me stories about her life and our family history. She is also a preacher, so she is very good with her words and is able to engage the audience.

I would use an oral storytelling to share personal experiences that might resonate with my students and teach them a valuable lesson. An example of this could be telling 3rd graders about a time where I learned a difficult math concept through consistency and lots of practice.

To engage with students on an imaginative level to increase attention and comphrension, and this can be used in all grades but I see this being helpful with high schoolers as they want to know how what they are learning applies to their lives. 2. One storyteller that I remember was my 5th grade teacher. Every Friday, at the end of recess, she would have us all sit down as she read aloud a chapter from the book. She would speak dynamically, almost as if she was the one telling the story. She read The Hatchet, Where the Red Ferns Grow, & so many more. I remember how we would sink into the world first, but by the end, we were begging for one more chapter.
