This quote had a significant impact on my thinking about acceptance is such a huge problem in the world. People feel the need to push their beliefs on others. But we are all connected and we can try to understand each other.

They were using the puppets. And Vola was trying to teach Peter to learn the scene, and how to move the puppets with different expressions.
It means that even though you think you are different you most likely will have a lot in common. It’s like when you go to school and someone is being bullied, and you're the bully you and them might be going through the same pain at home or at school.

The quotes means to me that no matter when someone doesn't seem like that at school they could still be the same at home. I saw this idea in the world after I was bullied in kindergarten to grade 3 I thought I would have to fight back but some people, I still had to stand up. But I also had to think of the other person that I don’t hurt them. SO no matter how mean things got that person could be going through the same things.When Vola says: I realized something then: that even though he was a man, even though he was a different race, even though he might have grown up in a different country, we might have had a lot in common. The author is trying to make us see that, the person could have done a lot of things that was the same as Vola.

In the story Vola want peter to make a puppet show of a story that happen it war because she killed someone and she did not want to.

This quote means, if you do something you don't want to to, and you kill someone then you feel guilty. Also Vola did not choose to go to war, but, she had to. So, she did not want to kill anyone.

To me the quote means that this man was different. He grew up in a different race, a different country. He is like me. I was different at my old school I was the only catholic. I grew up in a different community.

This paragraph is about Vola and what war did to her life, how it effected her mentally and physically. This happened so so long ago, but she still torcheres herself about that one moment. War defiantly effected Vola mentally, because of the fact that she lost her memory and because now she refuses to live in the outside world, or the fact that she is holding Peter because of the show. When Peter asked Vola about the 3rd condition, it was probably hard for her to tell him, because of war's effect on her.
