1) the knowledge about Stalin's cult and about all crimes that he did was eradicated from the people.
2) Stalin and his party benefited from the eradication, because people praised Stalin for his achievements, while not knowing his fails. After revealing the knowledge Khrushev benefited for some time, when dictatorial regime weakened. But later when the order was violated, Khrushev's opponents were strengthening their positions.
3) If all the people knew all the Stalin's crime, they would not repect him. At that time people could start revolution again, which would weaken USSR, so german invaders could easily conquer it. At some point, Stalin's crimes are justified. It would be better for the truth to be revealed after the war, so USSR would split and turn into republics. They would develop and grow faster and be as economically stable and developed as Europe.

The knowledge that the disaster even occured was hidden from the public and its negative effects on the population were blamed on other factors such as food and poverty. Locals were told to stay and live out near Chernobyl as if nothing happened.
2. The government of the Soviet Union was benefitting as they didn't want be blamed for the deaths and mutations of thousands.
3.   1. What knowledge was controlled or eradicated? The Armenian genocide of over 100 years ago; the government claims the deaths were caused by the hard conditions of war, when in reality, as most historians argue today, it is indeed considered genocide. 
  2. Who benefited? the Turkish government
  3. What could be the consequences of the knowledge being preserved?
at this point, the fact that the true knowledge is out to the public today doesn't really change much, except for nationalistic feelings of Armenians against the Turkish government; but this still wouldn't change the devastating fact of the genocide of thousands of Armenians over 1-- years ago. Therefore keeping the knowledge further unknown would also not affect much(given that all this time, no one had answers).

These actions were prohibited by UN laws and constituted an infrigiment of human rights,but it became clear only when this information leaked to the internet and social medias,so this problem began to be considered in the world.
2.  I think Chinese government could have benefitted if this information wasn't spread by internet, because China wants to remain  in UN .
