During the time that Wava was alive, she recognized job inequality between men and women due to gender in which most of the opportunities were given to men. One example was KKY had more benefits for men. The thing she left behind was to let the world be open to giving jobs to women and men equally for music. One way to catalyze this was starting a band club with her friends that were primarily female.

We can keep her legacy alive by having organizations include what Wava has done during their info sessions since the presenters can tie how their values match with Wava's whether it is a small or large impact.

I want to be remembered for encouraging people that everyone is capable of doing music competitions no mater how big or small and how it is not exclusive to only music performance majors. I also want to be remembered for telling people that music competitions are not solely about the tangible outcome but rather the process and how it is rewarding since many only see the outcome for competitions as the placement which is not true

Wava’s legacy, I think, is more than just Tau Beta Sigma or really just confined to band. She faced hardships in her life, but she was always able to overcome and continue on. She had such a strength to her that I admire greatly and I think that is her legacy…her strength and courage. Even when things didn’t always go her way, she still took everything head on and persevered to find happiness and success.

We can continue Wava’s legacy by always persevering and staying determined. I think sometimes things can get so heavy or so taxing that we can get caught up in them and forget that there will be a time when everything will be okay and we will overcome. I think maybe that is what I like so much about Wava’s legacy is that it goes past band and continues on into life. We should all strive to have that courage and strength in our lives.

I want to be remembered for my drive. I will always work until the last second and I will always do what is best for my sisters. I want nothing but the best for TBS and I want to be remembered for helping to better our sisterhood every day. I always wish to leave something better than I received it and I couldn’t be happier with our sisterhood and the family it has given me.

Wava's legacy is an inspiration above all else. She is the definition os seeing an ideal, seizing upon it, and following it wherever it may lead you in TBS. She was the first of her kind (female band directors and sisters alike) and now, seeing how many of my fellow women and sisters get to achieve their goals in music, I truly see how Wava's legacy has lived on throughout the years.

The entire sorority is dedicated to keeping her legacy alive. As long as we continue down the path lined by TBS ideals and goals then I believe we will continue to make Wava proud.

It's said that people don't often remember what is said, but the always remember how you made them feel. A someone in TBS who is not a music major, it is sometime difficult for me feel like I am bringing a whole lot to the TBS table. However, what I don't bring in musical ability or advice, I do bring in a lot of other ways. (*cough cough, rose ceremony vibes*) I hope to be a sister who makes people remember TBS in a positive light because they remember that we made a positive emotional impact. When we hand out food, teach people every week how to fold their pants, host music events, or literally anything, we are making an impact on our band and others around us! I strive to be a sister that makes a lasting impact on people's emotions by how I treat them.

Wava's legacy is a commitment to bands. She came forth as one of the first female band directors in history and made a legacy of placing women in music that has grown and flourished into the sorority itself and the amount of women that enjoy making music with bands all over the country.

Keeping her legacy alive is continuing to participate in that which she loved. Her love of service and music drove her to being a band director and founding member of Tau Beta Sigma. By continuing to serve and play a role in the band society, we will be continuing her legacy.

I want to be remembered as the person who reminded everyone to seek the joy in every moment. I find entertainment in all things because that's what I live for. I want others to remember that the joy in things is the drive that allows us to keep going, that's why we serve as sisters. That's why we are in the band. We find joy in what we do, and I want to be the reminder to do so.

Wava's legacy demonstrates characteristics of what being a trailblazer is all about. She went against the norm to create her own path, inspiring others to follow in her footsteps. Wava proved to the world the true potential of women and musicians as a whole.

Wavas legacy is a big one! She did a lot more than we think with her being our founder! She paved the way for women in music for a lot of things! I never knew that Wava was one of the first generation of female band directors it just highlights one of her many achievements that should be talked about during our history of Tau Beta Sigma! It’s amazing how she taught all grades as well and has even achieved to even found a sorority for women to be just as equal as KKPsi

We can keep Wava alive by looking at how she lived and implementing it into our lives! She held herself with honor and striving to do her best for everyone and really cultivated her mental poise to get going forward with what she believes in! Even when they were rejected the sorority at first they still strove for it to be founded! Not only that she was very successful in music as well and really broke down barriers for women in the process! Wava allowed herself to be adventurous and straightforward. We should do the same to keep her alive!

I want to remembered for the many things I’ve helped do in the past! Or even possibly the energy or good memories I’ve contributed to someone’s life in the process! I want to be remembered as the creative spirit that loved doing what she did no matter what gaze was looked my way or what mistakes I’ve made as long as I had a smile on my face in the end!
