The Aborigines were the first people to come to Australia. The British people put their prisoners to Australia because it was so far away. They discovered Australia in the 1770 when a sea captain (James Cook) when searching the Pacific Ocean. Also, Australia was loaded with people because of one thing, gold. In 1851 people found gold and everyone started to go there

Australia became a white only country for a couple years. They would not let people that were colored enter their country, later in the 1970 "White Australia" was gone. By 1950, Japan was Australia's most important trade partner. The reason why they traded with Japan is because it cost less to trade with closer countries.

Unlike the United States Australia has the opposite seasons then the U.S.A. Say it is summer in the U.S then in Australia it would be winter in Australia. For people that live in the U.S when it is winter they come to Australia because it is really nice in Australia, when it is winter in the U.S. The reason why this happens is because Australia is on the southern hemisphere of the Earth that is why they are the opposite seasons of the U.S.

Again, we are talking about Australia's wildlife. When you go to Australia you will see a lot of different animal species. When the British was making trips to Australia they brought animals to Australia too (The Rabbit), and the rabbits multiplied and the rabbit population increased. This cause some other species become extinct or on the verge of get extinct.

33.7 Living Under an Ozone Hole

Scientist have made atmospheres for the Earth and the lowest layer which is the one that contain the air that we breathe. The next layer is about 6 miles above the Earth and it contains gas which is called the ozone layer. The ozone's purpose is to keep UV ray from the sun from hitting the Earth. UV ray and humans/ living things don't get along very well because that is why we get skin cancer and sunburns and etc. The loss of ozone is caused mainly by chemicals known as (CFCs). In Australia the thinning of the ozone layer is affecting health factors in Australia, like skin cancer this has rose sharply because of this. If you ever go to Australia you should ALWAYS bring sunscreen. Also, the government has been trying to help Australia because of the ozone.
