The next layer is about 6 miles above the Earth and it contains gas which is called the ozone layer. The ozone's purpose is to keep UV ray from the sun from hitting the Earth. UV ray and humans/ living things don't get along very well because that is why we get skin cancer and sunburns and etc. The loss of ozone is caused mainly by chemicals known as (CFCs). In Australia the thinning of the ozone layer is affecting health factors in Australia, like skin cancer this has rose sharply because of this. If you ever go to Australia you should ALWAYS bring sunscreen.
