         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>Why might a gifted learner be more "focused" or "willing to take on a challenge" if a writing task is creative or open-ended?</em></div><div>     It allows the students to take the risk of expressing their ideas in a new medium. They are able to try something new without the repercussions.</div><div><em>What points did this article not touch on? What arguments might the article be missing?</em></div><div>     The article was limited in the sample size. I would have liked to see a study done on an “average” school with a mixed demographic, incorporating culturally diversity and economically varied background of students.</div><div><em>What is your call to action after reading this text? What are your next steps?</em></div><div>     My next step will be incorporating the tools that we were provided as a means of creative outlet.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I feel like gifted learners will be more engaged with creative writing in that it offers them an opportunity to get outside the box and do something which allows for more personal expression. Expression not specifically in the writing, but in the way in which it is written will allow for more individuality. </div>]]></description>

With a 97% passage rate on the AP exam, TJ high school is not a typical school with the same type of students that we see on a yearly basis.          <description><![CDATA[<div>My next steps are to allow more creative outlets for students in their writing. Not every avenue can be covered with creative writing, and that's okay, as students can still be pushed and do good academic work through essays. But a lot of work can be done through creative avenues and I will work on adding more creative outlets.</div>]]></description>
