The social emotional/work habits checklist is very prone to bias. Could we define more clearly what the checklist items mean for parents and students so that it isn't vague and "hidden"? Do we even need a checklist for these items or just explain those in the narrative?

What do parents and caregivers look to first when they receive a report? What aspects do they find the most useful? The most problematic or incomplete? If we want families to better understand our reporting process, and especially if we hope reports to acts a motivator/tool to set goals (or are they even that? are they meant to capture the student in this moment in their learning experience?) then caregivers should be more involved in the process. I'm so curious to talk honestly with families about what is important to them about reports. We have our hunches, but I'd like a more clear view and to collaborate with families.
