HOMELEARNING, WEEK 38: RESEARCH: What is gender stereo types and gender equality? (main understanding of our topic)

A gender stereo type is something someone has assumed about what a gender can do. For example, "girls cant play football" is a common stereotype.

A stereo type is when someone assumes something about you and puts a "label" on you. For example, "all girls have to have long hair".

Girls can do what they please to do. They can cut their hair short, wear shirts and shorts, play with boys, play football and more. Boys can wear dresses, grow their hair long, play with girls and more. Society likes to stick with their gender, do things that their gender usually does, when they can do other things. If people see a girl with short hair, they assume she's a boy.

They say men earn more money than woman. They say woman get married, have kids and stay at home. Why can't women go to work? They say women can't play sports and win awards like men. Women can be as strong as men. Women fight for their rights until there is gender equality.

What is gender equality? Gender equality is exactly what it's called. Gender, meaning boys and girls. Equality, meaning equal rights. Girls and boys should be able to do what they want, freely.

This is a big problem in our world, we need equal rights.

When girls play sports people say that you’re not good at so don’t bother.Girls can do what they please to do.
