A few months after my cat died, my father suggested that we buy a puppy. My mom did a bit of research and we managed to get one fairly quickly. lily is a Shih Tzu and Havanese mix and was only the size of my hand when we met her. now, she is ten pounds and has enough sass to rival me.

The Rachel Carson program required each kid to conduct an individual experiment for a science fair every year. my first science fair experiment was testing weather or not plants grow differently in low levels of light. I remember, on science fair, I was shaking in my seat as I waited for a judge to come and talk to me.

The science fair for my 8th grade was extremely stressful. at first, we thought we would only have two days to finalize documents and set up boards (we usually have 3). unfortunately, our science fair week correlated with a big snowstorm that kept us home. I remember setting up a document to answer questions for all 6th and 7th graders while at home. we ended up only having one day to print, cut, glue, and arrange our boards and we got every single board done before the day ended.

my first performance onstage was Newsies Jr in 6th grade. I had a very minor roll and only a few lines. when we were walking up the ramp to go backstage, I remember shaking so badly that I could barely hold onto anything. but, as soon as we stepped onstage, all of that nervousness just went away.
