For the rest, I'll give you a few examples;) 

I've been on basketball and track teams where people have been lazy off the court/track, given up, or were kicked off of the team due to low grades or behavior problems. It was frustrating because it let the other team members down and impacted our season. I've definitely let people down too though. I didn't go to a close friend's wedding one time after we got into an argument. I've missed events or plans with friends because I was too tired or didn't feel like doing anything. I've also gone to potluck dinners, and not brought any food.

My advice is to be kind and to treat others the way you wish to be treated. Always apologize if you don't follow through. Saying sorry is not a form of weakness, but a form of strength and maturity. And then follow through the next time. 

We all make mistakes, but forgiveness makes second chances possible. However, don't expect people to enable you if you continuously let them down or vis versa. Always give your best effort and be honest. If you don't have time to make food for the potluck, let the host know.
