I would always make sure to be OVER THE TOP excited about a book I just read and have a copy available in person for immediate sign outs! The best part of book talks is that you are modeling having conversations about your reading life to your students. Eventually, my students were asking to share about the books they were reading, and I found a recommendation from a classmate was the number one factor in students picking up a particular book. It really feels like magic when book conversations are everywhere in your classroom!
