At the time of this story, I was about seven or eight years old and I, being my curious self, decided I wanted to explore the house even though I've been living in it for the past three or four years. One place in the house my mom wouldn't let me go was the attic she said it was dangerous because I could fall through the floor or some excuse like that. I decided that I wouldn’t fall through the floor and went up four stories to the very top of our house and explored the attic. While I was walking I could hear creaking under my feet and decided this was a bad idea. I spotted a window and me being stupid though “Oh i’ll just climb out the window”.... I don't even know anymore, so I opened this window and climbed out on the roof of our house. It was extremely cold because it was getting into winter and I only had a T-shirt shorts and a bright Yellow minion robe on and decided I was too cold and wanted to go back inside. I tried to lift the window but it was stuck, so there's me my eight year old self with big white curly hair and a minion robe on trying to get back into my house from the fourth story…..smh… I thought I was going to die and I started screaming my dad eventually came out and got a ladder and carried me down.

I haven’t gone back up there until this day.

During the Charleston field trip in sixth grade my roommates and I decided to do some pretty strange stuff. First off, we made some coffee for ourselves but there wasn’t much for all of us so we had to split it. I didn’t really like the coffee so I didn’t drink much of it.

We were bored after we finished our coffee so we decided it would be fun to call the room next door to us. Each room had their own room phone number and I don’t exactly know how we got their phone number but we eventually did (we weren’t allowed to leave our rooms so we couldn’t go and ask them). Note that I wasn’t really all for the idea of calling our neighbors but I honestly didn’t care so I didn’t try and stop them.

They dialed the number and the phone rung for a bit (we put it on speaker) and they didn’t pick up. We continued to call them, maybe two more times, until we eventually gave up. We sat down on our beds and did our own random things.

Then, unexpectedly, we got a knock on our room door. We didn’t think much of it until we opened it and saw the face of a pretty annoyed teacher.

All of us were super confused when the teacher said: “Why did you call the police?”

We all just glanced at each other until we replied how we didn’t mean to call the police but instead we meant to call the room next to us. At this point I just backed away and sat on the bed, not wanting to be apart of this as the teacher said: “Well, the office was called by the police asking what was wrong and why the guests were trying to call them. From now on, don’t touch the phone.”

We quickly closed the door when she left, and I was so nervous we were going to get into serious trouble, but no one cared afterwards and in the end we forgot about it.

Mykah Parker So one day me and my whole family were on the beach, and my god brother (Preston) was 5 and at this time he thought that he could get all the ladies. So preston saw these teenage girls laying on the beach in front of us, and he wanted to impress them so he goes dancing up and down the beach. After the like second time going up and down the beach, he stopped in front of the girls towel and he started like break dancing. The girls took out their phones and started recording him. By this time I am thinking what is preston doing, so I go up to him and say “what are you doing?” he completely ignores me and he keeps dancing. The girls then look at me and say “OMG he is so cute…” so I ask him again, “what are you doing?” he says “I’m trying to get the ladies.” By this time the girls were dying so I say “Okay Preston” and I walk away.

One day in science the whole class was working on a project. I was sitting quietly doing my work when I hear, “There’s a centipede on your desk Mrs. Perna!” I look up and see Althaf jumping out of his seat, sprinting like a cheetah across the room to the door. I saw Mrs. Perna get up from her seat, looking over her desk, confused, grabbing a textbook and dropping it on the centipede. She missed. Finally she got it, and showed the class. Of course Althaf wouldn’t come anywhere near it. I hopped over to see the centipede in the tissue, wrinkling my nose at the dead bug.

I walked back to my seat, when an idea came to my head. As a trickster, ideas come into my head and on instinct I scare people (Just ask my friends). Me and Althaf would cross paths, so being the cunning person I am, I screamed, pointing, “IT’S RIGHT THERE!”

Althaf screamed and jumped 10 feet high, trying to leap on a table, but he failed. So instead he crawled under the table. I was laughing so hard, my heart beating like a hummingbird. He came out from underneath the table muttering, “I can’t believe I fell for that.”

I sat back in my seat, hiding my smile and the laughter threatening to come into my throat. To this day, I still tease him by yelling, “Centipede!”

This happened to my sister and brother when I was still a baby. I guess you could say I got the trickster gene from my dad, because my mother, father, sister, and brother had just finished watching ‘nightmare on elm street’. (My brother and sister are about my age in this story). My brother needed to go and let the neighbors dogs out because they weren’t at home. There’s a little forest pathway between our house so my dad decided to hide behind a tree, and wait for my brother. Finally when my brother was walking back, my father jumped out from the tree and screamed at him. My brother screeched like a girl, echoing in the forest.

Now my father wasn’t done scaring yet. My sister’s room has two closets, and one she doesn’t use. So my father hides in the closet, in the dark. My sister comes into the room, confused as why that closet is cracked. She steps in her room, when suddenly my father jumped out scaring my sister half to death. After that my sister wouldn’t speak to my dad for two whole days. And I was sleeping through the whole thing.

One time we were with our friends. They had 3 genetic kids and 4 adopted from Ukraine. So 7 kids. They all had names starting with Gs, Griffin, Grace, Gabe, Grant, Grady, Garrett, and Gwen. Grady is 12 years old and has down syndrome. He is the sweetest and funniest kid. So when we were in Birkdale just getting together to have a sleepover later we went out to eat went shopping just a bunch of fun. Everyone was tired after shopping so we stopped in a big garden with a patio and we were in center of this ginormous place. My parents were talking on one side and we, the kids, were on the other except for Grady. Grady was very confident and did not care what other people thought of him; the main reason for that was his down syndrome. Anyways he goes out to the middle of the patio and he starts to “fight crime.” He started to fight air basically. He did kicks and punches in the air. Once he “got the bad guys” he came over to us and we had asked him to dance for us. He said yes we think. So he goes back out in the center of the patio and starts to hum and put his hands together. His first move was putting his hands together like he was going to pray and he bent his knees and started shaking his butt. He then next started dancing like the genie from Aladdin. He was all over the place. He did moves you would not even think of. We finally heard what song he was singing it was from Taylor Swift his favorite singer. He finally stopped and bowed in the center of the room and started clapping. That day was so interesting and fun.

I believe it was nearly nine pm when I heard a strange screeching from outside my bedroom door that could have only come from my older brother, Luke. Luke had always been quite a peculiar boy, with his obsession over all things Star Wars and his awkward social ability, and his odd love of random dancing and singing, which might be a bit of a stretch.

To understand a bit of what I’m about to tell you, you’d have to know a bit about the layout of the upstairs of my home. My family has a two story lounge, and overlooking the lounge is a loft area on the second floor. When you come up the stairs and turn left, you would find my bedroom and bathroom. The closest bedroom on the right is Luke’s room, which is right between the banister overlooking the lounge and what we call the Apartment. The Apartment is just a small room with two large windows and two couches where my brothers and I play video games. If you go past Luke’s room, there is a long, dark, narrow hallway, which has a bathroom on the left and Daniel’s bedroom all the way down at the end of it (the only way I can think to describe this is to have you think of any horror movie you’ve ever seen based out of a hospital or abandoned house. Imagine the creepy dark hallway with the single, messy white door at the end of it where the killer lurks. That’s about what this hallway looks like).

On this particular evening, my mother and dad were out of the house, having dinner with a few old friends of theirs who were in town for a short time, leaving us three kids and Daniel’s girlfriend, Traylor, alone in the house. I was hiding away in my room as a teenager often does, reading a book on my carpet, surrounded by the dirty clothes I had carelessly strung about my bedroom. Daniel and Taylor were in Daniel’s room, Taylor finishing up some school work and Daniel playing a video game.

Luke, out of boredom, decided it would be fun to turn on Pandora on the tv and listen to it in the apartment. He played some sort of pop station, and was dancing around the loft, and signing horribly like he often does. I walked out of my room in confusion to see Luke dancing like a teenage girl in a club. I laughed upon seeing him, rolling my eyes and going to return to the safety of my bedroom and listen to music so I could finish reading without Luke distracting me.

Just as I had my hand on the door knob, I hear a door slowly creak open at the end of the hall and turn to see Daniel staring out of his bedroom, only his face visible due to the darkness. He stared at Luke, who had moved on to twerking now, for a long minute or so, and then, with a shake of his head and a degenerate sigh, he slowly closes the door and I heard the lock click into place. Luke looks after him and yells “You’re breaking my heart!” and then collapses to the ground with his hand clutching his heart, which sent me into a fit of laughter as I retreated to my room.

This was the day of one of my best friend’s 12 birthday party. It was a sleepover party, but we were also going to go to Defy Gravity. So my dad, thinking he was so clever, said that I should wear my PJ’s to my friends house, despite me telling him we weren’t going to go to sleep at 11 in the morning. As soon as we arrived at my friends house, I instantly looked around me, because I know my friends and I knew that they had something planned. So my dad and I ring the doorbell and two of my friends run around the side of the house and tackle me to the ground. Of course, they questioned my PJ’s and told my dad that we planned to go to Defy Gravity. So as my dad drove home to get me more clothes, we decided to play soccer in the backyard. My friends and I have no common sense whatsoever so at the time we thought that it was a really good idea to hop the fence that divideds the yards and run into my friend’s neighbor’s yard. So we came up with a “very clever” plan to “accidently” kick the soccerball into the neighbor’s yard. So when I kicked the ball over, we all ran to the fence and hopped over, except for my friends Aryss, who was having trouble getting over the fence. So Teresa, Jasmine and I ran into the neighbor’s yard, forgetting that they had a dog. The soccerball was right in the middle of the yard and we were all afraid to go get it, thinking that we would get in trouble. Jasmine was sacrificed (pushed) so she ran out in to the middle of the yard to retrieve the soccerball. While this was taking place, Arysa was still trying to get over te fence and I remembered that the neighbors had a dog. Apparently so did Teresa, we exchanged nervous glances but we were also smilling becuase we wanted to see Jasmine getting chased by a dog. Jasmine finally reached the soccerball and held it up all proud, when out of nowhere, the neighbors dog came running up, barking it’s head off. This sent Jasmine running and Teresa and I laughing because we thought it was pretty funny. But we were hiding behind a tree that was near the fence, which was exactly where Jasmine wanted to be also, by this time Arysa finally made it over the fence and started walking towards us, but we ran right past her to avoid getting attacked by the dog. Jasmine, Teresa and I all hopped over the fence safe and sound. But we remembered Arysa had trouble with the fence so, she ran over to us and we helped her in to Teresa’s yard just as the dog came to the fence. We were all relieved to have made it safely over, but being the stupid people we are, we repeated this action about 5 more times, despite what happened last time. :)

Haven TylerI lay there awake, staring at the wooded top of the bunk-bed. I toss and turn moaning because I could not sleep. I look around at the tin walls of the cabin, wondering why I even agreed to come to this Girl Scout camping trip anyway. Even though it was 2:00 in the morning and I was the only one awake, The room was louder then it was when we were all awake. I peek around to the 3 bunk-beds and 4 cots in the middle of the room.I try so hard to fall back asleep but it was impossible. There were only eight of on the trip, but the nights were like a circus full of heavy sleepers. The girl sleeping the bed above me, Caitlyn, talks in her sleep. Every night all I here is her, “HELP, HELP the SHARK the SHARK!” the screams, I don’t know how everyone else stayed asleep for that, but that was not all! A girl named Sydney did not but snore and the other girl Abby moaned like crazy. Then a loud THUMP hit the floor and I look around, that was when I say Lily on the floor, sound asleep. “Really” I moan. I decided that I was not going to go to sleep anytime soon, so I decided to get up and grab my phone out my bag. Now my bag was on the other side of the cabin, this meant that I need to walk over there and get it. I slip my feet of the bed and stand up, I was not too worried about making too much noise because there was no way that they would wake up, but I was wrong. The second I take a step the hard floor cracked. Right then every single person in that room wakes up. The 2 girls on the cots jot up and one of them falls right of the edge. The room was silent and everyone was staring me down. “Wow” I think to myself, “ all of this noise and i'm the one to wake you up!”The next morning I tell everyone how much noise they make at night, but none of them believed me. Whelp I guess that this was my last camping trip with them!

Finally the tournament was over. We had won it but we were absolutely exhausted, and were ready to go home and rest. I was with my friend out getting lunch before we went home.

She and her aunt went to the bathroom before we got back in the car, so I was left by myself and decided to come so I wouldn't be left by myself.

Once my friend came out of the bathroom she realised her aunt was still in the bathroom so she came up to me and whispered, “I’m going to jump out at her and scare her when she comes out.”

“Do you know which bathroom she went into?” I asked.

	“I think so,” she answered.

Tiptoeing up to the stall she patiently waited for her aunt to come out.

Only you would do this, I thought. My friend has always been the outgoing, funny kind of person. She and I had gotten into a lot of trouble as little kids. We had been friends for so long I’m starting to think I know her as well as she knows herself.

I looked over at my funny friend who was now giggling to herself still patiently waiting. Suddenly the door slowly opened and my friend got ready.

“BOO!” She yelled too loudly as she sprung out in front of the woman.

At that moment I realised she had scared the wrong person and started dying laughing.

When I was 9, I thought my oldest brother Josh, was the smartest person in the world. It only took one event to convince me otherwise.

A crash rang through the house as a door shut ominously. My 18 year old brother, Josh, looked at me solemnly. My other 7 year old brother Andy whimpered.

“There...Is a murderer...in...this very house,” Josh proclaimed dramatically. He looked left and right around the living room, one eyebrow raised. “We must protect this house, by the means of all dignified police officers...Nerf guns.”

“Yeah,” shouted Andy.

Me, “Why don’t we just call the police?”

Josh looked at me like I had just asked the dumbest question in the world. “Because not even the police can track down this criminal. It’s up to us to keep our neighborhood safe!”

Well if Josh said it, it must be true! A teenager and two kids with Nerf guns can totally track down and capture a criminal, right?

The obvious course of action was to arm ourselves, and go through every door in the house methodically to find the criminal. We started with the bathroom down stairs. Josh instructed us on the “proper” way to open a door where an armed criminal could be hiding. Andy was stationed to the left, I to the right, and Josh in front of the door. Andy would slowly open the door, and I would fire. Josh would supervise. We went through every door, while crashes and strange groans were heard near our parents room.

Finally, our parent’s room was to be opened.

“Steady officers,” shouted Josh.

One day Althaf invited me to go his house so I could be part of his science fair project. I arrived at his house after driving around his neighborhood for a few minutes. I rang his doorbell and he almost answered immediately. I walked in and quietly said hey to his parents. He took me upstairs to where the rest of the people he invited were. They were all playing Call of Duty and obviously not working on the quiz he had for his science fair. After everyone arrived he made everyone go to a different room and take the quiz. This quiz, he said, was long but was supposed to be simple. I went into the guest room ready to get started on the quiz. When I first started the quiz and flew through the first page and I thought it was going to be very simple. After I got to the second page I felt so illiterate. There were so many I couldn’t answer. I went to the third and fourth page and continued to struggle. Althaf walked into the room I was in to check my progress. He saw me on the fourth page and was impressed… until he realized I skipped to that page because I couldn’t answer many questions on the other pages. He stood at the doorway and stared at me blankly. I decided to continue working and I was struggling to answer 10 out of the 98. Everyone else started to finish but they just gave their quiz to Althaf without answering every question but I was determined to answer every question. I decided to go to the bathroom which was way quieter and I spent the next hour trying to finish. After a whole hour I gave up with 5 questions left and I turned the quiz in. Everyone was so confused on why it took me so long and I had to explain. After that we all enjoyed ourselves and went outside but after Althaf told me the answers for the I missed I felt so dumb.

It was my friend’s birthday and she had a sleepover party at her house. We went swimming, watched a movie, and had a lot food, but it didn’t go as planned. We were having fun while doing each others hair and playing games, but once we calmed down and started to watch a movie I began to get really tired. I was the first to fall asleep, like always, and I’m a very deep sleeper. My friends decided to draw all over my face with marker, but I never noticed. Once I woke up I still had no idea, but I had a feeling something was going on because everyone was laughing and looking at me really weird. I looked for my phone as soon as I woke up, just like every normal teenager, and found it in my friends hands. She tried to keep it away from me, but eventually I got it and looked on my photos. I deleted every video and picture they had taken and made sure they deleted everything from their phones, too.

I went into the bathroom with a grin on my face as I was thinking about how I could get them back, and some of my friends were still asleep as I walked back into the room. So, we went downstairs and quietly got ice cubes out of the freezer. We tiptoed back to the room and placed the ice cubes down their pants. One of them immediately jumped out of the blankets and screamed as they ran around the room, while the other just laid there groaning as we laughed at her. She eventually got up and chucked the ice cubes at us and since she was still half asleep she had no idea what she was doing. Even though I ended up having marker all over my face, I was able to get some of my friends back for it.

“No! That’s my final answer!” I crossed my arms and looked defiantly at Jaycee. She put her pale, trembling hands on her mouth, shaking her head. I could tell that she was trying to keep my secret. Jaycee uncovered her mouth.
“Haley, he’s my boyfriend. I wouldn’t date him if I couldn’t trust him!” Jaycee stares at me with loving eyes, as she talks about her 3 month boyfriend. Mathew had been liking Jay for about 2 years before he finally manned up and asked her out. Some of my friends tried to coerce our tall friend into asking him out, thinking that it would be a while until he did it himself. Surprisingly we didn’t have to do much, a couple days later he asked her to go steady with him and she had said yes.
“Jaycee, she said no. You have to respect that.” Autumn said, trying to convince the wavering girl. I glared at Jaycee, I should’ve known that I couldn’t trust her. All of my friends took a silent oath to keep my secret, once I told them.
“C’mon Jaycee, I’m your boyfriend, I can keep a secret, I swear.” Mathew moved his hands in a cross formation over his heart. Jaycee had looked back at me, and then back at Mathew. She had begun to shudder at that point, her body trembling. I knew I didn’t have long.
“Jaycee if you tell him my secret, I swear I will never talk to you again!” At the time it had sounded dramatic, like it was that big of a deal. Everyone knew that I wouldn’t be able to commit to what I had said. I loved Jaycee too much(as a friend). I could hear noises coming from Jay’s mouth, I had tilted my head closer to her mouth, trying to figure out what she was saying.
“BELCH!” She had kept my secret, replacing the words in her mouth with a large burp. Right in my ear. I couldn’t bring myself to glare at Jaycee, it was just too funny.

A couple of years ago we had some neighbors who had a dog but this dog was a crazy dog. I was at my house one saturday night. Our neighbors had just left to go out somewhere and would be back later that night. A couple hours passed and I started hearing noises outside. I went outside and all my neighbors were outside too. They were all looking and pointing to something on my neighbors house. I turned around and saw their dog on the roof! Their window was up and the screen was pushed out! The dog was walking around in circles on the roof. After I called my family outside it wasn’t long until the police and the fire department showed up. Everyone was taking pictures and the police were talking about how they could get the dog down but, the neighbors still weren’t home. About 20 minutes later the neighbors arrived in their car just to see all the commotion we have made. They let the police and the firemen in their house and went upstairs. You could see them all in the window trying to lure the dog back into the house. They finally got the dog back inside and then got the screen up and the window down. The police and firemen left and the dog was safe. I will never forget that day.

I didn’t go to the OB trip, but there were like 10 other people who didn’t go either. In my first class I went to PE, and we played basketball. At some point 2 people (names were changed to be anonymous) are near the out line. Then the moment Jeff (fake name) gets the ball, Bob (again, fake name)instantly runs into him, basically tackling him. Later, during handball, Bob was chasing after someone, then he slips and falls to the side, bouncing about 5 feet in the air. After that class, me, Alex, and Brandon went to our next one, but no one was in the room. Brandon says he is going to go look for them and tells me to stay if he comes back. He and Alex leave me for about 7 straight minutes before I decide to go find them. But the moment I left, they came back through the other side of the hall. When I came back (which was a few minutes later), I was out of breath, just came in and sat down.

James Moser Maybe about two birthdays ago, a very interesting event occurred. So it was roughly 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning and everyone was beginning to wake up… except for one friend. William was his name, and he was one of the heaviest sleepers I think I know. (I’m telling you, you could hit him with a frying pan and he wouldn’t wake up!) Anyway, so we were all waiting for him to get up. thirty minutes pass… an hour passes.... Until eventually, he moves a little, before proceeding to stand up. Under the assumption that he was awake, we call his name and ask if he wants to go play tag (tag was just about one of the only games my friend group played about two-three years ago). He doesn’t respond, so we imagine he is just still drowsy. Five minutes pass and he still hasn’t said anything. He then walks out of the room, down the stairs, and into my kitchen (all the while we are following him). He then stairs in my kitchen, and with a sound like one of a car crash, he faceplanted on the floor. my dog is awoken and charges into the room, barking her head off. Therefore, awakening just about everyone in my house. Too busy laughing at the stupidity of what just happened, we forgot to ask if he was okay. However, before we could, he stands back up, (still asleep!), and starts to head towards the stairs. Appalled that he remained asleep, we follow him back up the stairs, and back into the room that we slept. He then laid back down and carried on with his sleep as if nothing had happened. Roughly one hour later, he wakes up, with absolutely no memory of what he had done. Luckily we recorded the whole ordeal and showed it to him later. Sadly, we don’t have that video anymore. But anyway, it was definitely interesting, to say the least.

It was a normal school day. An A day, to be exact. Nothing happens during school or the bus ride. I go home after school, do my homework, and practice piano. Afterwards, I went to soccer practice. Nothing really eventful happened at that practice. But when I get home after practice, a lot of stuff starts to happen.

I enter the house after practice. I go take off all of my soccer stuff and take a shower. After that, I go off to eat dinner. Nothing happens then either. I get ready to go to bed, and keep in mind that my sister is already asleep. I go to bed at around 11 o'clock. It isn’t until at around 1 when I hear someone call my name. “David.” “David, stop it.” It sounded like my sister, but she was asleep. I hear this several times before I went to go find the source of the sound. After looking around for a while, I realize that my house must be haunted because there is no other explanation for this noise. But it was 1 in the morning and I was really tired. After I start to wake up a little, I move closer to the source of the noise. It seems to be coming from my sister’s room. I open the door and my sister was sitting up, still asleep, sleep talking. She stands up and starts to move toward me…. then I wake up.

During this years Outer Banks trip my roomates were Althaf, Lorenzo, Kareen, and me. When we first got off the bus me and Lorenzo grabbed our room card and took off. Althaf had the other room card. When me, Lorenzo, and Kareen got to our room we opened the door and just splattered our stuff all over the room. Within two minutes the t.v was already on. Lorenzo decided to take a shower before we went to dinner. When Lorenzo got done with his shower he came out to put clothes on. Althaf was still outside somewhere searching for our room. He said that he was wandering around the hall when Mrs. Burrell stopped him and asked him if he knew where his room was. He told her that he had a key but didn’t know the room number. Mrs. Burrell went to her room which (coincidentally) was right across from ours. During that time Lorenzo was searching for his clothes, which we had hid in the closet, finally I felt sorry for him and showed him where it was. As he was crossing the little hall in the room to get to the closet, the door to the room opened and standing in the doorway was Mrs. Burrell. Lorenzo was just standing there with no shirt or pants on. I swear he jumped a mile in the air and scrambled over to the bed. Mrs. Burrell the whole time was just standing in the doorway with a smirk on her face. Meanwhile me and Althaf fell to the floor dying of laughter. That is still my funniest middle school moment to this day.

On a very average day, my dad and I decided that we wanted to go somewhere to eat lunch. My mom and sister were away doing something, my dad didn’t feel like cooking, and I can hardly cook now, let alone then. My dad asked me for suggestions, and it had to be nearby and a drive through, since we didn’t feel like sitting down somewhere and eating. There were about a hundred choices, but I had that feeling that nothing sounded good. I had to pick the best of the choices, since my dad didn’t care as long as it wasn’t gross. I decided to go to Arby’s, since I thought that their food was okay and their service was also okay. Even though I thought their service was okay, I knew nothing about service, so their service was anything but okay. We go to the drive through line, and the line looked like it was a mile long. I guess everyone else wanted Arby’s that day. After waiting about 30 minutes in the drive through and thinking about leaving, we finally got to the front of the line. I said “I would like the ham and cheese and…” The woman said “That’ll be $6.47.” I told her, “I didn’t finish my order.” “You’d like to change your order?” the obviously stupid woman said. “I didn’t finish my order!” I said, louder this time. “You’d like potato cakes?” You’d like potato cakes. How could you confuse “I didn’t finish my order” for “I’d like potato cakes”. My dad was just as irritated as I was, so he just left. I don’t remember what we ate for lunch that day.
