Function:The function of my tactile illustration is to show the audience about how climate change is dangerous, or that it could make people sick and how some people are increasing it everyday, for example, by burning things like fossil fuels, or chopping off tree trunks to make paper.

Materials:Since my tactile illustration will be about climate change, the materials I would want to use are paper, leaves, and branches

Manufacture:Some of the methods that I would like to use to manufacture is by using paper model or paper mache.

User:I would like to do tactile illustration about climate change to make people change their opinion about doing somethings that can maybe be  luxurious, but also dangerous for not only humans, but also animals.

My tactile art will be used to create an awareness about bullying and how words can affect people. This will be used to help prevent bullying and hurtful words from actually hurting people. Many of my friends and I have experienced how one's words can either make you laugh and smile or how those words can make you cry and loose a reason to go on in life. While going through the pain of all these words I remember a time when I couldn’t fall asleep at night because of worrying that if I slept all my problems would get worse and come crashing down on me. When I actually fell asleep I feared waking up, not wanting to get out of bed because of not wanting to have to deal with the problems and words of other people. Me being scared of hurting other people I remember keeping all these feelings inside because of not wanting to hurt them. The negative words that other people said about me started to become my own thoughts about me in my head and I know that I am not the only one who has faced this. Even though words were what caused me to not want to go on, words were what made me realized that I was loved and encouraged me to fight on. I don’t want other people to have to go through the same pain as I did so this tactile illustration will help KIS Secondary School Students think before they speak to help prevent other people to be badly hurt.

I can make a unique product by making based on personal experience and try to portray the emotions that I felt to make the tactile illustration more meaningful and more relatable. There is a specific memory I want to make my tactile illustration based on which is the time when I was having a horrible day but then decided to imagine my own imaginary world where I felt loved and accomplished. I remember for the rest of the year whenever feeling sad I would write in my diary about this day dream that I wanted to live in. All of the problems I faced and all the words that people said affected me so much I could feel myself being confused and feeling lost and wanting to escape from this world making me somewhat insane. In my Tactile illustration I want to portray a girl surrounded by all these hurtful words in black and white but ignoring it because of being trapped inside of her own daydream showing all these bright colors that can contrast the background. My product will be unique by my choice of colors, my idea, the meaning, and the objects I will use to create this Tactile Illustration. I hope that even though this Tactile Illustration might not be relatable to everyone but it will cause people to reflect on their actions and make them be more careful when they speak. My product will be unique because of how I get my message across to the audience being it based on a memory.

My client/user has a need for know what is global environment and why we need to protect animals and the global environment. Because this is really important to know for the kids in the primary school. They will protect the global environment when they grow up. 

I can make a unique product by using the audience as an example, that will make my illustration unique. 

Materials: The materials I wish to use are unusual materials like food as well as nature products such as leaves and branches as I think using such products makes the product more attractive and these materials also helps me present my ideas symbolically. Using a variety of unusual products helps make my illustration much more creative than normal paper and paint would.  One way to use these products in a safe and healthy way in through photography. Photography gives the chance to use unstable products like food and paper as if photographed the essence of the material will be kept in a safer way, compared to keeping it open in public places, where it could be damaged. 
Manufacture: Some of the methods I wish to manufacture are paper cutting; paper mache but more of methods such as stacking and  molding.  Paper based materials are part of my design brief as I think that paper is the easiest to work on for intricate details. Photography is also something that i would like to add in my illustration as this is a real life problems which is faced in living things that we usually don’t see and thus photography would act as proof as well as bring Pathos into my illustration.

User: I am making this to raise awareness and therefore it isn’t for any particular person but for a group of common audience, because I believe only through everyone's effort this problem can be soon resolved. Some places where I could put my illustration would be at school corridors and bus and train stations, as these are some of the places most people come at least once a day to.

I have found that tactile illustrations are designs or photographs with a sense of touch. This type of illustration or design is typically used for editorials, campaigns, and advertisements. It is used for these things because the result of using tactile illustration in advertisements is an engaging, memorable, unique, and eye-catching advertisement that will capture your audience's attention and provoke them to buy your product, or take action regarding the issue advertised. Tactile illustrations are usually handmade first and then photographed before being edited and published. They can be made out of various things such as paper mache, food, paper, cardboard, and other items. The most common thing used in tactile illustrations is paper since it is easy to cut and assemble into the desired image.  Also, I have found that advertisements that use tactile illustrations are more efficient compared to ‘normal’ graphic design and text-based advertisements. This is because advertisements that use tactile illustrations have a more lasting effect of the audience (since the ‘sense of touch’ is bolder than the flatness seen in graphic designs and is more eye-catching than the text and shapes on other advertisements). Lastly, I have found that tactile illustrations are always unique, which encourages the client to take action more because the client thinks that the company or campaign is actually putting effort into their work, and therefore they care.

My client/user has a need for no specific thing. My targeted client or audience is the general public, from mature adults to little kids.  I chose this targeted audience because I feel like climate change is not only a specific person's or group's problem, it’s everyone’s fault and everyone can help fight it too. For example, mature adults and older people with power in the industry can bring change in major ways (such as cutting back on industrial CO2 emissions, finding alternatives to forest burning methods, and using sustainable or renewable energy sources instead of traditional coal) while little kids and young adults can bring change in minor but helpful ways (such as cutting back on plastic waste, reducing the use of private vehicles, saving paper, and using sustainable electricity sources). Furthermore, I chose this audience because I think that since tactile illustrations are not that complex, they can be easily interpreted by a range of people and don’t require any age restrictions unlike other types of advertisements.

I can make a unique product by making something that doesn't follow a calm 'sugarcoated' theme (by 'sugar coated theme' I mean a theme that doesn't show the true side of things, but rather a softened version of the truth), but rather a bold and honest theme. I want to have an honest representation of the world and what global warming is doing to it because in my opinion, the truth about forests burning and animals being declared extinct on a daily basis has been sugarcoated and avoided for too long. I also want my advertisement or tactile illustration to be bold because since many of my peers are as doing climate change I want mine to stand out and be unique. I can make my advertisement bold by incorporating old and contrasting colors, not an aesthetic color palette whose colors blend into each other. Moreover, I can make my advertisement unique by using unusual things while photographing my product. These things could be fire on the surface of the object, water or a mist covering the entire object, and different types of powder being blown into the camera lens to create a special effect. 

Also to give my flat image or tactile illustration a sense of touch there needs to be something 3D so I decided if I go with this idea, after printing out the designs I will add real life or 3D object on it to give it depth and a sense of touch. Some examples would be the clock, and also the leaves of the trees which I thought I could do something life in the picture to the right.
