What have you done?

During my first week at CelcomDigi in Sunway Pyramid, I was introduced to the retail working environment. I met my colleagues, who were incredibly kind and supportive, and reported to my supervisor on my first day. I learned about the products offered, assisted and coordinated with customers, operated the self-service kiosk, and guided customers on how to use it. I also improved my communication skills through frequent customer interactions.

3. Your Feelings & Thoughts

I felt excited but also slightly overwhelmed by the fast-paced environment. It was a big change from the hospital and clinic settings I’m used to. I’m motivated to keep improving.

5. Any Difficulties/Concerns? How Did You Cope?

One difficulty was the physical exhaustion from standing for long hours.
My First Warehouse Experience

1. Your Name, Matric Number, Date

Name: Muhammad Aliff Najmi bin Hamzah

Matric Number: A195384

Date: 6/7/2025

2. What have you done?

During my first day in this warehouse, i was actually arrived pretty late because I was lost while getting there. The warehouse I was assigned to is at shoes warehouse for this entire EP duration.

At the warehouse, there wasn't really much of an introduction since I was pretty late on the first day, but all of my colleagues and staff I have met there are very nice and supportive of each other.

During my first week, I have did a various scope of job that I have learned. My first job is changing tag in the shoes, this is done to change the price tag of Chinese Yuan to Malaysian Ringgit. My second task is to unload boxes of shoes, shirts, and other stuff from trailer truck, sounds simple enough. Next I also did a through checking of returned shoes to ensure that they are still in a good quality and of the same size. After that, I learned how to package and arrange the shoes for shipping. Lastly, I also did take shoes from different shelf to shelf for orders that have entered, here I learned how to use their given scanner. I scanned the barcode of the shoes to ensure that I have got the right item for the right order.

3. Points to Remember from Week 1!

Upholding accuracy and paying close attention to detail are important to correctly fulfilling orders and minimizing mistakes.

The presence of supportive colleagues and understanding staff makes a significant positive impact on daily tasks.

Remembering to step away for brief breaks when necessary is vital for maintaining focus and personal well-being.

Being adaptable to shifts in tasks and priorities helps manage the dynamic nature of warehouse work.

Mastering the use of essential tools, like the scanner, significantly boosts productivity and accuracy.

4. Your Feelings & Thoughts

Overall, I feels a bit positive for my first week. Sure I got lost during my first day but that's a little thing. I also got tired from this warehouse job, but it's pretty much what I expect from this job, so it wasn't really much outside of vision. It's also different from hospital settings where you meet and clerk patient as here, you just works here like robot, talking occasionally when you want to ask question or get new tasks. Suddenly, I miss healthcare settings.

5. Any Difficulties/Concerns? How Did You Cope?

One difficulty I found working here makes my shoulder sore, perhaps from my lacking of exercise. I also accidentally sprained my shoulder muscle on my second day. I really should workout prior to this job. I cope by just resting after works, it still hurts the next morning and I considered to take some medicine but I think that would be a bit of an overkill. However, I'm sure my shoulder sore will go away and I will adapt more the longer I work here.

6. Two Words to Describe Elective Posting Progress So Far

Challenging and Resilience

7. Your Plan for Next Week

For next week, my plan is to works more efficiently as I think my first week of the job is pretty slow compared to other people doing their job. I also want to be more resilience in doing my task for this job. Other than that, I will also try to improve my focus as some parts of this job require focus. Finally, I also try to learn how to use the scanner there better as it seems there's a lot more to it from what I've learned from this week.

EP WEEK 1 - STARTING A BUSINESS

EP WEEK 1 – STARTING A BUSINESS
1.

Name: NURUL AMIRA BINTI NAZRI
Matric Number: A195272
Date: 8 AUG 2025

2.

What have you done?
At the start of this week, I officially began planning the foundation of my business. I made a detailed checklist of everything I needed , from sourcing the freshest and best-quality ingredients, deciding on suppliers, preparing my kitchen setup, to planning the packaging design. I also brainstormed marketing strategies and ways to promote my product on social media.

One of the biggest parts of my preparation was doing multiple trials to perfect my cake recipe. I tested different combinations of ingredients, adjusted the baking time, and made sure the texture, taste, and presentation met my expectations. Each trial was an opportunity to learn and improve. Even though it took a lot of time and effort, I knew that having a perfect product was the first step to gaining customer trust.

3.

Points to remember from Week 1!
Despite promoting my business across all my social media platforms, the response was slower than I expected. By the end of the week, I had only received three confirmed orders. This made me realize that starting a business takes patience and persistence. Building trust and awareness among potential customers is a process and it doesn’t happen overnight. However, even with a small number of orders, it’s still a positive sign that there is some interest, and from here, I can work to grow it further.

4.
Your feelings & thoughts
At the beginning of the week, I felt incredibly excited and motivated. The thought of starting something new, something I had been planning for a while, gave me an extra boost of energy every morning. However, as the days passed and orders were slow to come in, I started doubting myself. I kept wondering if I was doing something wrong and maybe my marketing wasn’t effective enough, or perhaps my audience wasn’t reaching the right people.

That feeling changed when I finally received my first few orders. It was such a relief and gave me a renewed sense of hope. Those three orders reminded me that progress, no matter how small, is still progress. It boosted my motivation to work harder, improve my strategies, and deliver the best product possible.

5.

Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?
The biggest difficulty this week was the lack of orders, especially in the first few days. I was worried that all the money I invested in ingredients and packaging would go to waste if the orders didn’t come in. This fear made me rethink my approach.

Instead of letting it discourage me, I used it as a push to think creatively. I researched other ways to market my products, including engaging content ideas for social media, joining local food groups, offering promotions, and even reaching out personally to friends and family to spread the word. My plan is to try out these strategies next week and see if they bring any improvements.

6.

Two words to describe elective posting progress so far:
In improvement

7.

Your plan for next week (Week 2)
For Week 2, my main goal is to strengthen my online presence. I will create more interesting and eye-catching posts, be more consistent in posting content, and make my business page more engaging for potential customers. I also plan to introduce a new product or flavor to grab people’s attention and keep my menu exciting.

They were renovating the cafe and i helped to clean the place. Later on, we had a meeting for Atas Angin Festival which is where i got to meet everyone and the ex interns as well, where we all came together to make sure our event goes well. I was in charge of ticketing, so i checked everyone’s ticket and put on wristbands, as well as setting up the venue. It is physically demanding and i would be exhausted by the end of the day. But on event days, it doesn’t feel as tiring because im surrounded by music and had the chance to enjoy while working. I am excited to learn more.

5.Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

At first, i was really shy and was overwhelmed by how outgoing this group of people are. but as time goes, i realised that there’s not really any hierarchy and everyone is treated as friends no matter of age. Other thing, its really tiring to constantly use my body power but i am lucky enough to be blessed with supportive and fun staffs that stopped me from burning out.

6.Two words to describe elective posting progress so far

Knowledgeable and Exciting

7.Your plan for next week

I plan to increase my knowledge on event planning, how to handle with artists and to be more outspoken so i could socialise and communicate better with my colleagues.

I assisted with patient preparation and setting up treatment equipment, as well as learned about different modalities such as ultrasound therapy, TENS, and manual therapy techniques. In addition to clinical exposure, I also contributed to non-clinical activities, including decorating the Merdeka promotion board and editing promotional videos for the centre’s social media.

Points to Remember

I learned that effective communication and rapport-building with patients are key to a successful rehabilitation process.
Bridging care and recovery- EP at Iswanah Physiotherapy centre

EP week 1

1. Your name, matric number, date

NUR ALIAH ATHIRAH BINTI NOR AMRI

A196340

4/8/2025-10/8/2025

2. What have you done?

During my first week at Iswanah physiotherapy centre, I was introduced to a field that is similar but somehow different from the medical field. On the first day, I was introduced to the physiotherapists and the team there. They were so kind and so welcoming. They frequently ask me and my friends what we needed to do for this posting, what we expected from them and if there is any form or attendance sheets to be signed. On the next following days, I learn more about their appointment arrangement, system being used, and the flow of treatment for each patient. As I am not a physiotherapy student, they don’t really expect me to do the rehab. However, they gave me a chance to learn how to use an ultrasound machine as a treatment not as a diagnostic stool. It was so exciting and amusing. It's said to help in reducing inflammation and encourage healing. They even give me the permission to use it on myself whenever I feel fatigue or have a muscle strain.

3. Points to remember from week 1!

● The patients there comes from hospital referral, walk-in, and some were suggested from their marketing team. There's even patients being referred from HUKM!

● They use aoikumo website to arrange their patient’s appointment, history of illness and other important notes in regards of their patients condition.

● Each therapist has their own patient. They don't mix or pass their patient to each other unless a serious reason is noted. This is because it helps in ensuring the best treatment is given based on the patient's conditions and healing process.

● Ultrasound is not only used to scan for diagnosis, it can also be used to encourage healing and reduce inflammation! Although the penetration is superficial but it's deep enough to reach the muscle and repeated treatment helps in the healing journey!

4. Your feelings & thoughts

At first I was feeling so nervous as I am not too familiar and understand what being a physiotherapist is like. I was also feeling scared because this is the first time I stepped outside of my comfort zone. However, once I get to know the team and understand the work flow, I feel much more relaxed and at ease every time I come to work. It was also exciting and amusing seeing their work ethic and their bond with the patients. When a patient comes and says their pain is slowly fading and they regain their strength, I somehow can feel their happiness and relief and it makes me happy too!

5. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

Of course there are difficulties I've faced here. Physiotherapy is all about locating the pain by our anatomy knowledge and helps ease the pain by pain management and rehabilitation. here comes my difficulty- I'm weak when it comes to anatomy. Especially the musculoskeletal anatomy since the last time I revised it was during the end of semester examination of semester 2 of year 1. When the physiotherapist was explaining about the muscle involved in the patient's condition, I went blank as I tried to remember the muscle and its location. What I did to cope with this is by re-read the notes I had on musculoskeletal anatomy and memorize the picture of the anatomy as I am a visual learner. I also ask for some tips from the physiotherapists on how they remember the anatomy. Of course the main tips is to always re-read and re-learn what we had learned before. It helps in retaining the knowledge more.

2 words to describe elective posting progress so far

Exciting and amusing!

7. Your plan for next week (Week 2)

I plan to do more hands-on exposure of the treatment on patients and on myself by supervision so that I understand how the treatment feels like and also improve my communication skills with patients. By doing the treatment on myself, this helps me to understand what I'm suggesting to the patients and also helps me to easily explain how the treatment feels like when I'm suggesting physiotherapy to my future patients.

Name: John Wong Yew Chen

Matrix Number: A194559

Date: 4/8/2025 – 10/8/2025

1. What have you done ?

Settling In: On my first day, my supervisor, Mr. Law, welcomed me and introduced me to the whole team. He is very friendly and nice, He explained the company’s rules and regulations, safety guidelines and gave me a full tour of the charcoal warehouse.

Getting to Know the Workflow: I learned about the different sections from my supervisor — unloading, weighing, sorting and preparation, packing and sealing, storage, and delivery. Each area has its own role, but they’re all connected. Every sections has its specialized professional team to carry out their tasks.

Some Hands-On Experience:
-I took part in two teams for this week, which is Arrival & Unloading team and weighing team. In the unloading team, we helped receive incoming charcoal deliveries, checked documents like delivery orders and invoices, inspected the charcoals for any visible damage, unloaded them using both manual and lifting equipment, then moved them to the weighing area.

- in the Weighing team, we used the industrial scales to measure weight, calculated net weight after removing tare, logged all the details into the inventory system, and labelled each batch for tracking.

2. Key Points Learned for Week 1:

It’s always better to ask questions early rather than guess or assumptions.

Good teamwork makes everything smoother. Everyone here is so helpful and they guide me through all the workflow.

Accuracy is important — even a small mistake in weighing or labelling can cause big issues later.

Safety matters — proper lifting techniques, equipment and careful handling help prevent injuries.

3. Feelings & Thoughts:

This first week has been an eye-opener for me. The work is completely different from my usual daily life, and I find it refreshing. I’m excited to be part of a real warehouse operation and to see how everything runs behind the scenes. I really appreciate how patient and friendly everyone is — it makes learning much easier and the environment very welcoming.

4. Difficulties & How I Coped:

Keeping Up with the Pace: My teammates are very experienced, so they work quickly and efficiently. At first, it was hard to keep up, but I observed closely, took notes, and tried to improve step by step.

Understanding Terms: Some warehouse terms were completely new to me. I made sure to ask whenever I didn’t understand and slowly built up my own “mini dictionary” of terms.

Avoiding Mistakes: I made mistakes here and there when following instructions, so I now double-check each step before doing it.
JOURNEY THROUGH REHABILITATION : MY TIME AT ISWANAH PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTRE

Name : Nur Najihah Binti Nazaruddin

Matric number : A195008

Date : 16/8/2025

What have you done?

During my first week at Iswanah Physiotherapy Centre, we had a briefing with the supervisor on the very first day. Since we are not physiotherapy students, we were informed that we are only allowed to observe treatments and handle certain machines, while procedures like massaging and manual therapy are strictly for physiotherapists to perform.

Throughout the week, I observed various physiotherapy sessions for patients with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. I was also involved in assisting with minor tasks such as preparing equipment, greeting patients, and learning about treatment modalities. Apart from clinical exposure, I also helped decorate the board for the Merdeka promotion and edited promotional videos for the centre.

I was also given the chance to perform therapeutic ultrasound on a patient. I learned that the ultrasound used in physiotherapy is different from the diagnostic ultrasound commonly seen in clinics or hospitals. Instead of being used for visualization, its main function here is to promote the healing process, such as reducing inflammation and improving tissue repair.

Points to remember from Week 1!

Importance of effective patient communication and tailoring treatment based on individual needs.

Clear difference between therapeutic ultrasound in physiotherapy (healing process) vs diagnostic ultrasound in clinical settings (visualization).

Observing teamwork in action: although the centre only has a small team of four people, they worked very dynamically together. The environment was warm, supportive, and welcoming, which really motivated us to learn more about their field.

Your feelings & thoughts
I felt excited to finally begin my elective posting and grateful for the opportunity to explore physiotherapy in real practice. The initial briefing helped me understand my role and limitations clearly, which gave me confidence to participate without overstepping. At first, I was a little nervous because it was a new environment, but the team’s friendliness and encouragement made me feel comfortable. Overall, I am motivated to keep learning and gaining new insights in the upcoming weeks.

Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?
Initially, I faced some difficulties in fully understanding the different physiotherapy techniques since they were quite new to me. To cope, I asked questions to the staff, took notes, and did some self-reading after sessions. This helped me follow along better in subsequent cases.

Two words to describe elective posting progress so far
Eye-opening & Exciting

Your plan for next week (Week 2)
For Week 2, I plan to be more active in assisting during physiotherapy sessions, continue observing different cases, and ask more detailed questions to deepen my understanding, familiarize myself with many more machine available at the centre. I also hope to engage more in patient interactions to build my confidence.

First Week in Marketing Department

EP WEEK 1

Assalamualaikum & hi everyone

1. Your name, matric number, date

Name: NUR AIDA ASYIQIN BINTI SARKAWI

MATRIC NO.: A195137

DATE: 3rd August 2025

2. What have you done?

-i was tasked by the head of marketing department of the company that i worked with to draw a mascot for the company. (A Sarawak Keropok Lekor Company) I drew 2 mascots of keropok lekor, which the two of them are the best selling lekor by the company. One being a regular Sarawak Keropok Lekor and one is Lekor Keping. It was loved by the founder of the Company, Puan Hajah Fatimah and it was immediately printed on stickers few days later of that week and it was placed on the products.

-i also took pictures of the products for future uses (it is included in the picture above!)

3. Points to remember from week 1!

-A way to attract customers are always from the packaging!

4. Your feelings & thoughts

- For the first few days I had a hard time switching from a hectic hospital life, going wardrounds and attaching clinics but during my elective posting, I had to sit down and be busy infront of a computer without having to walk around here and there. I realised how office workers have a really sedentary lifestyle the first few days i was there. They barely walk around and had to munch on snacks to keep themselves awake. Nevertheless, I was really happy that they were really welcoming and helpful towards me. They guided me kindly for my first task, telling me how they wanted the mascots to be and reacted positively when i showed them the results.

5. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

-Personally the only difficulty that I experienced was keeping myself awake while doing the works under a room air conditioner. It was a very suitable environment to sleep and the office was very quiet as every workers was busy with their own work. I coped this issue by snacking and engage conversations with workers. There is a factory where they make the products under our office so sometimes I go downstairs and befriend the factory workers so that I had a bit of moving here and there instead of sitting down at the office from 8am to 5pm straight.

6. 2 words to describe elective posting progress so far

-Repetitive, challenging

7. Your plan for next week (Week 2)

-I plan to draw the mascots that I created using some outfits with the corresponding events that our company attended. For example there will be a HPPNK (Hari Penternak Peladang dan Nelayan Kebangsaan) event going on in Sabah, and I plan to draw them using Sabah’s ethnic costumes.

-I also plan to create a poster to be posted in d-FRentz official instagram account. Using the mascot that i drew in Sabah’s ethnic costume, I will place them there in the posters.
