I really like the idea of creating a level playing field for students with disabilities. Also, the chunking activities is one the best strategies for getting students with disabilities to understand concepts learned. Color coding is an efficient way to get students to organize their thoughts, and helps with their initial movtivation.

I would start slowing by introducing strategies that all students are able to use to gain understanding. I would review the kinds of learners present, and use strategies that compliment their learning in small groups. Students would be allowed to used ideas that help them progress at their own learning pace. Peer tutoring would be used to add motivation with consistent teacher monitoring.

Chaining is one idea that I would like to use more with my students. They should be able to understand that some concepts are linked to others that they already. My job would be to help them make the connections at each level. I need to work on this tasks consistently.

Power Hour is a phenomenal idea for teacher inservice. I learned so much in just one hour. The activities suggested can be used with all students. Students with disabilities would definitely benefit from all activities presented. Presentation is significant. Color coding would be an effective activity that could be used by any child. Visual learners are positively motivated by colors. Other learners could use the note-taking activity. This was the best hour of inservice. I can use all activities in the classroom, and one-one-one. Thank you! I love all of it.

First I would create the aides and discuss with teachers and other staff on how we should implement them better so that the school is on the same page. Then we would need to teach these strategies to the students to help familiarize them so that they can be well equipped and ready to learn.
