I met Bon in Nov of 2018 in Redmond where we were both attending the NTO orientation training - I am the person on the extreme right. We got to spend a week together where we had the opportunity to share stories and engage on different topics. We spent time talking, eating and shopping together at the Microsoft store :-). There was a memorable moment where he talked me into buying my son a gift which was rather expensive (something I would not usually have done). He was a deeply caring and family orientated person and convinced me it was worth the extra money :-). What a great guy.

He will be missed.

Asif Valley
NTO - South Africa

Bon, you and I go way back, back to 36 years ago when we first met at the Kalayaan dormitory as UP freshmen. If I remember correctly, we almost always had the same crushes then. Another 25 years would pass by before we met again, this time with you in the role of CIO of the P-Noy government and I as a Specialist in Microsoft.

Our fated encounter introduced me to a new Bon. You were still the same kind, charming, witty and talkative self. But you had a different twinkle in your eye and an added bounce to your step as you passionately laid out the vision for reform in the government. It was amazing and inspiring! You set out to drive change and innovation; you talked the big game but more importantly, backed your words with real political will. I was proud to see your successes. But even during the times you failed, there was still admiration and awe, as you tried where others just walked away.

I was glad when you joined Microsoft. I believed in you and what you could do for our team. Thank you for the partnership my dear Bon! We often joked that just between the two of us, we brought 100 years of experience (hehe). But I also benefited from your nuggets of wisdom. I hope that we're able to give justice to your principles and values, now that you are no longer with us.

You will be missed! Your beaming smile, and your almost always positive outlook made it easy to engage with you. It is why you have touched so many with your life and created memories with each of them.

Godspeed my dear friend!
- JD

Bon, we will miss you in our Wednesday Light Group. I admire you for being our Technology Officer and as one of our spiritual leaders in the group. You are always the first to share, give biblical contexts and insights, and help us not only in PS issues but life in general. What's more touching is that you never get tired of doing these for us, even outside our Wednesday sessions. I remembered once I thanked you for being a blessing to us in the group, and you replied by saying, "because of the One who strengthens me to do all good things." You are a true definition of being a servant leader and man after God's heart.

I will forever be grateful for every opportunity God gave us to meet, work, learn from and collaborate with you. I am sure you are happy now there in Heaven!

- Dino

The first time I met Bon was circa 2014. At that time, I was handling government accounts with my previous company and had to attend a Pre-bid conference in DBM for a project. I remember attending and wondering why the meeting room was unusually full, and vendors didn't have enough seats inside the meeting room. All the IT companies were represented there, and all us vendors patiently waited for the event to start. The event began and Usec Bon started to speak. He was the DBM CIO and spoke with so much conviction, vision and passion. I was so impressed by the way he spoke and felt genuinely proud that we had people like him in office, working for the improvement of our nation. Fast forward to 5 years later, I was being interviewed to work in MS by Joanna, and she mentioned that Usec Bon was in the EPS team as NTO. Her sharing that made me want to join MS all the more. I knew I was joining a great company, but was further convinced to join bec I would work with the likes of Usec Bon Moya, a brilliant man with a vision, and I wanted to be a part of that energy for change.
I thought working with Bon would be a bit intimidating when I joined, but Bon was the complete opposite of that. He would come to the office earlier to sit down with me, to help create my account plan when I was 2 months new with the company. He even was the one that organized our EPS Kris Kringle during Christmas. He was warm and encouraging, and would be our calming force despite the neurotic energy us sales people would have. I am heart broken to have lost a team mate, and a friend. Rest In Peace, dearest Bon.

Michelle

I wasn't able to work with Bon closely in Philippines but I had a life enlightening moment with him.

I will never forget our encounter in November 2019, he was in the pantry having snacks, and I was passing by going to the washroom. He asked me if it was true that I'm leaving Microsoft. I shared my story to him. I told him I didn't want to, but I had to pause my career and follow my husband in Singapore. He said with so much conviction that I made the right choice, and that's the greatest thing I can do as a wife and mother. He then told me his story and commended how Iris supported all his career decisions with ups and downs. He said I'd never regret it... I can never go wrong with Family first.

That interaction led to so much greatness and joy. I had so much anxiety then, but his words of encouragement and story gave me so much strength to move forward. Sometimes you meet people to send you God's message. That was Bon for me at that time. I needed that reminder, and it turned out that God's plan is so much better than what I would have wanted. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to thank Bon, but I know God used him as an instrument to send me his blessings.

He's a true man of God, and he lived a purposeful life. Our office was lovingly nicknamed the "dungeon" due to its location at Greenbelt Mall. We didn't have a general manager before as we were under the tutelage of two of Ayala Corp's and Ayala Land's best. They realized that our team needed a full-time manager which was Bon.

Bon seamlessly blended in with our small team. He did work which could be considered non-manager work, we were all hands-on as it was a start-up environment.

I still consider Bon to be one of the best of a handful of bosses I've had who I would say are good bosses and good people. Bon is first and foremost a good person, it just so happened he was also a good boss.

Iris, Sam and Kiersten, again my condolences.

Usec Bon Moya was my boss in myAyala. Full of wisdom, integrity and the best counsel. He set clear expectations, coaches, gave feedback, recognized efforts, inclusive, took time to know employees, open and tactful. He opened opportunities for me to grow in the team. He'd always say "talk is cheap", "you know you're better than that", "if you know in your heart, it's not true, don't be bothered".

Bon, I am thankful we stayed connected in spite of lost times and the distance. Remembering that long tight hug we had at the mall was all I ever needed after I left the team for better opportunities. Thank you for your genuity, and for the friendship. My love and prayers for your eternal peace. 🤍🤍🤍

To Ms Iris, Sama and Keirsten, with deepest sympathy, may you have comfort and peace during this time of great loss. ❤

One day we will see a much better Philippines, and we will smile because we know Bon had something to do with that. But then one day we will actually get to that day and stop and look back and realize: Bon's not here to see this day, to savor and enjoy it with us, to regale and kulit all of us with...AN EVEN BETTER IDEA!... and that's just not fair..... Bon, thank you for always making us look forward. Now we will always look back - and up - wondering, hoping, to see your ever-excited, mischievous, conspiring, knowing smile again. We miss you already. We love you. ❤ Roby, Joy, Kia, and Pio
