Originalmente, el parque del Retiro era unos jardines Reales.
Su historia se remonta a la creación de los jardines del Buen Retiro, en la época de Felipe  IV, en el siglo XVII.
Estos jardines artísticos para disfrute de la Corte se extendieron junto al monasterio de los Jerónimos, del que ahora solo permanece su iglesia de los Jerónimos.
De la época del reinado de Fernando VII son recintos, como la Casa de Fieras o el Real Embarcadero, así como la Montaña Artificial que formó parte del denominado Jardín de los Caprichos.

History St. Flannan Cathedral:
Is a romanesque cathedral that was built in the 1.180 by Donal O´Brien, but was destroyed soon afterwards by Conacht forces. Is still used as a place of worship. A new cathedral, built in the Gothic style, was completed on the same site in the early thirteenth century.
There also some very interesting artefacts such as an Ogham Stone, a High Cross, etc…
Both the Cathedral and Oratory are popular attractions in Killaloe and make for an interesting visit.
 
ARTISTIC VIEW: (part 2)

 This cathedral is rich in tradition and art. Killaloe Cathedral is part of a tradition of church building in Western Ireland and dates from the transition between the Romanesque and Gothic periods. Its style is mainly Gothic, but there are vestiges of previous styles, such as the rounded central arch of the east window that contrasts with the typical Gothic ogival arch. Constructed of yellow sandstone and purple, the cathedral also contains windows and stones carved from previous churches.  These and many more secrets hidden in this ancient church, make it special and striking to the public.

SITES AROUND: (part 3)

Around the cathedral there are several public places of interest, without crossing the river just a few minute’s walk you can find true gastronomic wonders and incredible shops. 
Some of the most known cafes in the area are: ‘Wood & Bell’ and ‘The wooden spoon’. That area of Killaloe is also full of shops: ‘Killaloe flowers’, ‘Coscutter supermarket’ and ‘Thinking toys’. If you need to spend the night Killaloe has several cozy hotels and hostels to sleep on. That will have to take you a nice walk from the cathedral to get there. Some of them are: ‘The lakeside Hotel and Leisure Centre’ and ‘The Killaloe Hotel’.

OPINION: (part 4)
 
Our opinion about the cathedral of Killaloe is that despite being a small cathedral; in comparison with many others, it is cozy, it is spacious enough to be able to give a nice mass without anyone feeling overwhelmed. The church is a little old but very charming. Its windows are beautiful and has certain details that make it special without being excessively overloaded. Even if the cathedral on the outside is not very attractive if you have the opportunity to enter, we recommend it, maybe you will be pleasantly surprised.

 Killaloe is a city from Ireland. As well as the rest of the cities Killaloe has a few of historical monuments that make the city more varied in culture. One of them is Spirit of Killaloe Boat. That is the name of a boat that takes you from  the Lough Derg to Ballina and also makes tours through the river Shannon. It has been working since 1999. The owner of the boats is James Whelan.
James Whelan also organizes different types of events.

It is a very good activity to do if you go sightseeing in Killaloe. The sight of the nature around the Lough Derg and the river Shannon is really pleasant. Also if you are traveling with little kids is a good plan. The are very entertained watching the view.

Format No. 1 - Applies to all Clubs - without Licensed Bars Incorporating Rules 1 to 17 inclusive 
MEMBERSHIP
5.1 There shall be four types of Membership of the Club: 
5.1.1 FULL MEMBERSHIP may be granted to persons, who having reached the age of eighteen years, subscribe to and undertake to further the aims and objects of the Club and the G.A.A.
5.1.2 YOUTH MEMBERSHIP may be granted to persons, not having reached the age of eighteen years, who subscribe to and undertake to further the aims and objects of the Club and the G.A.A.
5.1.3 HONORARY MEMBERSHIP may be granted to persons, who have reached the age of eighteen years, have rendered exceptional service to the Club or the games or activities of the G.A.A. An Honorary Member shall have the rights of a Full Member, but shall be exempt from paying the Club’s Annual Membership Fee. 
5.1.4 SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP may be granted to persons, who have reached the age of eighteen years, subscribe to and undertake to further the aims and objectives of the Club and the G.A.A., but who do not seek full voting rights and rights to take part in the administrative affairs of the Club or the G.A.A.
5.2 Full Members (including Honorary Members) and Youth Members of the Club will also become Members of the G.A.A.
5.3 Once granted, Full Membership of the Club and the G.A.A. shall continue for life, unless the member has been expelled or his resignation in writing has been accepted, in accordance with this Constitution and Rules or the Official Guide.
5.4 The rights of any member of the Club shall be conditional upon the member complying with the provisions of this Constitution and Rules and the Official Guide, including payment of any annual membership fee and levies.


SUBSCRIPTIONS
6.1 The Annual Subscription to be paid by members of the Club shall be determined by the Executive Committee and ratified at the Annual General Meeting.
6.2 The determined Annual Subscription shall be payable on election and thereafter annually, in advance of the date and in the manner decided by the Executive Committee. The date set shall be a date prior to March 31st each year.
6.3 The Executive Committee may from time to time prescribe the payment of an Entrance Fee by new or lapsed members in addition to the Annual Subscription above.







Activities

-Camogie: is a variant of hurling for women played in Ireland.
-Hurling: is a celtic sport. Is played with a slither and a hurl. This sport is also played in Argentina. The 15 players have score goals to win points.
-Football: is the most known sport in the world. 11 players have to score goals in their rivals goal.
-Ladies Gaelic Football: is a variant of football in which you can play all the parts of your body. Is for ladies.
-Handball: is a sport in which the players have to play with the hands and the goalkeeper can use the feet and the hands. 
-Rounders: is the gaelic version of baseball, is very similar to baseball. There are two teams, the ones who bat and the others catch the ball.

Club News
Strictly – Ballina 
Dance practice is fully underway for our ‘Strictly’ dancers and they are doing fantastically well!!  Our dates have been finalized and the semi-final and final will run on the 11th and 25th November in the Lakeside Hotel.
U-21 Hurling Championship 
The curtain came down on our championship year in Shallee on Sunday last 15th October. We played our second Under 21 game of the year; this time against Burgess. 
The first half was a close affair and the sides were level at 6-points each at halftime. Burgess made a better start to the second half. This put Burgess in a strong position and they subsequently never let the lead slip. Final Score: Burgess 0-19, Ballina 0-12. Best wishes to Burgess for remainder of championship 


Opinions

According to the opinion of the citizens, the club is a place where people are very close. Children come to feel like a second home.
In my opinion it is a beautiful community in which everyone is one, but how can we be sure of that? Is it possible to say that we know a place only because of what others tell us about it? Maybe not all agree, each and everyone thinks something, but the real evaluation is done by you.

For the rest, I think it's a good place for those who like to play football.

      The WasherWoman bridge is a small,cozy pub in the county of Ballina, Ireland, where you can have dinner, drinks, and listen to good local trad music.
The place is the best in Ireland because it is warm and very welcoming accompanied by very kind people.
It also is nearby many cool places like the St. Flannan´s Cathedral. 

Where it is located, places nearby and history.
     The WasherWoman Bridge bar is in Ballina, Ireland close by many hotels and places. Like St. Flannan´s Cathedral in Killaloe, Ireland, or the Killaloe River Cruises where you can have a great time on the Spirit of Killaloe on the River Shannon.
The name of the cozy bar comes from a bridge that was named Washerwoman because in 1860, some women laid down on the new railroad tracks that blocked their way to the river where they washed their clothes.
So a small bridge was built for them that was named Washerwoman´s Bridge  in their honor.

Music.
      The Washerwoman´s Bridge has amazing trad music (Irish traditional music), pub theatre, musicians, open microphones and music lessons.
This is great because you can enjoy of good music while having a nice drink. 
 

Drinks.
       It has a variety of amazing drinks like the guinness ( irish beer), 
       variety of alcohol. Large measures of whiskey and guinness.

Food.
They have many kinds of food. They have typical irish food. For example:

Bacon and cabbage: two slices of bacon with cabbage and potatoes.

Irish Stew: a lamb stew with vegetables , it is one of the most famous.

Seafood Chowder: a white shellfish soup with molluscs and fresh crustaceans.

HISTORY


Clarisford Park is embedded in the history of the town of Killaloe. Originally part of the demesne of the Bishops Palace, the approach road and surrounding walled garden give rise to a magnificent late eighteenth-century building, elegant features such as Doric pillars,  designed landscape, outbuildings, entrance lodge and a small courtyard containing an old well. The Palace and its curtilage are listed in the Record of Protected Structures and the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage. Used as a Bishop’s palace by the Church of Ireland until 1977,  Clarisford Palace is now in private ownership.

Clarisford Park is a community and sport facility in Killaloe  Located on the banks of the River Shannon, the park consists of intergenerational sports hall and dressing rooms, playing fields, training paddocks, running/walking trail and a community park.

People from Killaloe Ballina with a specialism in health and wellbeing were encouraged to participate and help create and deliver health and wellbeing programmes to improve and enhance the long term healthy lifestyle behaviour of people at all stages of life in the community.

Our opinion is that it is very spacious and it have been made in the floor, and they take advantage of the nature and we think that it is important and all the world have to do it. Killaloe is a town far from the center so it means there are less places to see but it doesn´t mean you will not have fun.

The fort was a simple round fort that was occupied in the 10th and 11th centuries. It was the place where Brian Boru of Thomond (called: “Emperor of the Gael”), (941-1014) and Great King of Ireland (1002-1014) lived. While he was the king, he ruled from Killaloe making it the "Capital of Ireland".
Also, he fought and won his most famous battle against the Viking invaders from Dublin, The Isle of Man, and Leinster. At the end of the day Brian retired to his tent to rest and pray, and while he was there, a Viking leader, discovered Brian and killed him.
This place have served to uncounted generations to establish the Irish nation.

Killaloe is located on the banks of the River Shannon, and better known as the birthplace of Brian Boru. This fort is very big and beautiful, is a large circular structure consisting of two built up rings. The location is in a spectacular setting overlooking Lough Derg on the River Shannon. It have a lot of slopes and trees.
Brian Boru was reared in this magical location.There is a tranquil beauty and seclusion amongst the tree ring fort which was at one time the fort of Brian Boru.

The History of the bridge 

The earliest record of a bridge between Ballina and Killaloe dates back to 1013 in a reference to a wooden bridge spanning the River Shannon.

For many centuries the crossing of the River Shannon on lower Lough Derg was accommodated by perishable wooden bridges, until the present stone bridge with its thirteen arches was built in the early eighteenth century. The arch over the canal was added in the late eighteenth century and the railway arch was constructed in the 1860s at the height of the Railway Age. In 1822 the seven central arches were swept away by flooding and they were replaced by five larger ones in 1825. A small monument at the centre of the bridge commemorates four men from East Clare who were shot on the bridge during the course of the War of Independence in November 1920. The bridge is built with nineteen arches. It was built by the bishop of Ireland in 1570 made of stone. This bridge helped the invasion of the invading Cromwellian.                               (Carlos and Aroa) (More Aroa).







Curiosities

1).A mystery appears when Martin Cildea, Alfred Rodgers and Michael Mcmahon were shot in the killaloe bridge. The tragedy occured between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.

2).Today, the historic arched bridge that crosses the Shannon River to connect the villages of Ballina in Co Tipperary and Killaloe in Co Clare adds to the charm of the area. However, in 1920 four members of the IRA were executed on the bridge by British forces. The men were accused of attacking a barracks in a nearby town. They were found hiding in a home in the area and brought by boat to Killaloe where they were swiftly executed. A memorial has been placed on the north side of the bridge honoring the men. (Carlos).

  • La gente puede mirarla y disfrutar de las vistas.

Opinion
Creemos Puerta de Alcala es un guapo pedazo de arquitectura,con razon estar uno de populares atracciones turistica en Madrid. Nunca habiamos visto  algo tan esteticamente agradable en terminos de arquitectonico diseno. Tener mucho historico valor.

El edificio real fue construido en el sitio de un siglo noveno y Alcazar largo de los siglos, el Alcázar fue sustituido por el Palacio Real que se ve hoy en día.
Carlos V llegó al poder en 1516 y restaurado el palacio en el estilo renacentista. Su hijo, Felipe II, también se añade a la alcazar. Sin embargo, después de un incendio quemó el Alcázar, el rey Felipe V construyó un nuevo palacio en 1738. El plan era tratar de replicar el Palacio de Versalles en París. En la víspera de Navidad 1734, el Alcázar fue destruido por un incendio originado en las salas del pintor francés Jean Ranc. No se detectó rápidamente debido a las llamadas que se confunde con las campanas de masas. Muchas obras de arte se perdieron, tales como la 'expulsión de los musulmanes', por Diego Velázquez. Otros, como 'Las Meninas', fueron rescatados por tirarlos por las ventanillas. Afortunadamente, muchas piezas se salvaron porque el rey ordenó que gran parte de su colección se trasladó a Palacio del Buen Retiro, poco antes del incendio.

El interior del palacio destaca por su riqueza de arte y el uso de muchos tipos de materiales finos en la construcción y la decoración de sus habitaciones. Estos incluyen pinturas de artistas como Caravaggio, Francisco de Goya y Velázquez, y frescos de Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, Juan de Flandes, Corrado Giaquinto, y Anton Raphael Mengs. El palacio es también el hogar de muchas colecciones históricas y artísticas de gran importancia, como la Real Armería de Madrid, porcelana, relojes, muebles, objetos de plata, y sólo completa quinteto de cuerda de Stradivarius del mundo.

4.Opinión - Por lo que hemos investigado el palacio real parece un lugar precioso para visitar en España. Hay un montón de destinos turísticos que se ven alrededor y un montón de restaurantes que parecen ser de gran lujo cerca. La historia en torno al palacio es tan interesante y la obra interior era muy emocionante aprender. También estoy interesado en aprender sobre el estilo de vida de la familia real.

1. Historia:
Historia generales :
En este sitio, primera estación de tren de Madrid estaba en augrated el noveno de febrero 1851 bajo el nombre Estación de Mediodía. Después de que el edificio fue destruido,fue reconstruido y reabierto. El arquitecto para el reemplazo es Alberto de Palacio Elissague, y quien colaboró ​​con
 Gustave Eiffel.  El ingeniero Henry Saint James también participó en el proyecto.  Llamaron la estación Atocha a causa de la cercana basílica dedicada a Nuestra Señora de Atocha. Las plataformas del tren estaban parcialmente cubiertas por un techo en forma de casco invertido con una altura de aproximadamente 27 metros y una longitud de 157 metros. El techo de acero y vidrio se extiende entre dos edificios flanqueantes de ladrillo.
Este complejo de vías férreas se expandió a través de los años. En 1985, comenzó un proyecto de remodelación completa, basado en diseños de Rafael Moneo. En 1992, el edificio original se retiró del servicio como terminal y se convirtió en una explanada con tiendas, cafeterías y un club nocturno. Al igual que el Museo de Orsay en París, el vestíbulo recibió una nueva función, esta vez un impresionante jardín tropical cubierto de 4.000 m2 (43.056 pies cuadrados).

Una moderna terminal también fue diseñada por Moneo, y construida en terrenos adyacentes para servir tanto a los nuevos trenes AVE como a las líneas locales de cercanías. Las líneas principales terminan en la nueva terminal; las plataformas de los trenes de cercanías se encuentran bajo tierra, en el ingreso a un túnel ferroviario que se extiende hacia el norte bajo el Paseo de la Castellana. La estación es atendida por dos estaciones de Metro de Madrid, Atocha y Atocha Renfe. Este último se agregó cuando se construyó el nuevo edificio de la terminal y está directamente relacionado con la estación de tren.

El Bosque de la Memoria en el Parque del Buen Retiro cerca de Atocha. Este monumento está compuesto por 192 olivos y cipreses, uno por cada persona que murió ese día, con un árbol también plantado en recuerdo del oficial de policía que murió el 3 de abril de 2004, junto con siete de los autores cuya captura estaba en marcha . Inicialmente inaugurado como el Bosque de los Ausentes (Bosque de los Infiltrados), en el primer aniversario del devastador ataque, el 11 de marzo de 2005, el sitio fue renombrado al año siguiente. El bosque está rodeado por un arroyo, con el agua como símbolo de la vida.

El Museo del Prado abrió al público el 19 de noviembre de 1819 como Real Museo de Pintura y Escultura. En 2019 celebramos su Bicentenario, una conmemoración que mostrará el camino recorrido desde 1819 hasta el momento actual. Con motivo de esta ocasión excepcional, se pretende también reflexionar sobre su futuro, sobre los retos que se plantean a este y a todos los grandes museos de arte antiguo: la necesidad de atraer colectivos sociales que tradicionalmente no se han sentido atraídos por sus colecciones, fomentar la investigación sobre estudios de género, minorías, o los retos derivados de la masificación. Además, durante los próximos años está prevista la conclusión del llamado Campus del Prado con el último edificio que lo integra, el Salón de Reinos del antiguo Palacio del Buen Retiro, incorporación que obligará a repensar integralmente la actual disposición de las colecciones. El plan de actividades del Bicentenario refuerza la programación habitual del Museo del Prado, insistiendo en los aspectos enumerados.
LA INSTITUCIÓN

El Museo Nacional del Prado, desde que fue inaugurado en 1819 y a lo largo de su historia centenaria, ha cumplido con la alta misión de conservar, exponer y enriquecer el conjunto de las colecciones y obras de arte que, estrechamente vinculadas a la historia de España, constituyen una de las más elevadas manifestaciones de expresión artística de reconocido valor universal.

HISTORIA Y ARQUITECTURA

El edificio que hoy sirve de sede al Museo Nacional del Prado fue diseñado por el arquitecto Juan de Villanueva en 1785, como Gabinete de Ciencias Naturales, por orden de Carlos III. No obstante, el destino final de esta construcción no estaría claro hasta que su nieto Fernando VII, impulsado por su esposa la reina María Isabel de Braganza.

El jardín fue fundado en 1755, por el rey Fernando VI, e instalado en el Huerto de Migas Calientes, cerca de lo que hoy se llama Puerta de Hierro, a orillas del río Manzanares. Contenía más de 2,000 plantas.

En 1774 el rey Carlos III ordenó que el jardín se trasladara a su ubicación actual, con el diseño de los arquitectos Francesco Sabatini y Juan Villanueva que organizaron el jardín en tres terrazas escalonadas, ordenando las plantas de acuerdo con el método de Linneo. Su misión no era solo exhibir plantas, sino también enseñar botánica, promover expediciones para el descubrimiento de nuevas especies de plantas y clasificarlas.

En 1942 fue declarado Jardín Artístico.

El jardín de hoy está dividido en tres secciones principales al aire libre (terrazas) y dos invernaderos. Las colecciones totales incluyen alrededor de 30,000 plantas y flores, y 1,500 árboles. También contiene un herbario sustancial.

Las tres terrazas del jardín (Terraza en español) son:

• Terraza de los Cuadros: Colecciones de plantas ornamentales, medicinales, aromáticas, endémicas y de huerta reunidas alrededor de una pequeña fuente.

• Terraza de las Escuelas Botánicas: colección taxonómica de plantas, ordenada filogenéticamente y en parcelas de 12 fuentes pequeñas.

• Terraza del Plano de la Flor: una colección diversa de árboles y arbustos, diseñada a mediados del siglo XIX en estilo romántico.

Los dos invernaderos del jardín están divididos en cuatro salas. El invernadero de Graellls data del siglo XIX y exhibe plantas tropicales y briofitas. La estructura más nueva admite tres climas: tropical, templado y desierto.

También digno de mención:

• El herbario: este es el herbario más grande de España. Contiene alrededor de un millón de hojas de hierbas, algunas del siglo XVIII.

• Biblioteca y archivos: la biblioteca del Real Jardín Botánico contiene más de 2000 obras sobre Botánica, Historia Natural y Química. Plaza de Murillo

    • Formada en 1861, la plaza fue inaugurada formalmente en junio de 1866, su nombre recuerda la batalla de Callao en mayo de 1866 entre las fuerzas navales españolas bajo el mando de Casto Méndez Núñez y el ejército peruano.
    • La plaza fue reformada sustancial y agresivamente en el siglo XXI. La reforma eliminó casi todos los elementos presentes en ese momento, excepto el acceso a la estación de metro y un gran árbol, convirtiendo la plaza en un espacio peatonal y homogéneo, al tiempo que agregaba un número limitado de muebles urbanos.

                   La Plaza Mayor es la Plaza principal de Madrid y fue fundada durante el reinado de los Reyes Terceros. El nombre de la plaza ha cambiado con el tiempo, ya que originalmente se la conocía como Plaza del arrabal, pero luego se la conoció como la plaza Mayor. Luego se renombró nuevamente a la Plaza de Constitución, en honor a la constitución de 1812. Hay una estatua en la Plaza y del Rey Felipe en un caballo y está fechada en 1616.

Otra característica destacada de la Plaza de Mayor es la policía montada a caballo que la patrulla. Esto se ha convertido en una tradición en la Plaza.

También hay diferentes instalaciones, como un cine, una agencia inmobiliaria, una óptica, una librería y una farmacia. Callao Square es un área muy comercial. Ofrece una variedad de diferentes restaurantes y tiendas para satisfacer todas sus necesidades en todas las ubicaciones.
    Opiniones 
    Plaza de Callao es una plaza común, moderna y concurrida. Hay muchos artistas callejeros y todos los turistas. Hay muchas opciones de compras en la plaza. Tiene una maravillosa arquitectura de los edificios que están allí, particularmente a lo largo de Gran Via. Sin embargo, este no es un lugar relajante. Esta es una parte muy ruidosa y animada del centro de la ciudad. Da una sensación real del ajetreo y el bullicio de Madrid.
