Universal mug

I wanted to go easy on the first mug, get a feel for it, so I made a simple universal mug. The handle might be a little small for the mug.

This was my first attempt at trimming. I could have gone a little deeper. I also could have followed the outline better when I trimmed off the extra. Over all I think this turned out pretty well.

When I was taking it off the wheel I used my finger to move it causing me to push one of my bubbles in on one side. So once it was on the board I pushed in the other sides to make it pooo purposeful. Did better getting the weight off the bottom.

This foot is all over the place, I can tell it wasn’t centered enough on the wheel. I also could have gone way way way deeper on my trimming. But it did turn out looking pretty good, I’d say not bad.

Making this double bubble was an adventure. It was fun trying to figure out how to put things on. The bottom did some how get to wet and collapsed in on its self, I lacked clay into it and did in the end save it. This is my favorite double bubble!

I decided that a trimmed foot wouldn’t fit the look I was going for, so once I fixed the bottom I just smoothed it over and signed it.

I added 1 1/2 things of clay to make this. I feel good about getting the weight out of the bottom, and I like the design of the lines in the bottom. The handle could have gone in better, it’s too flat at the top.

The foot turned out good, it’s deep enough tj where I feel comfortable that glaze could be applied.

This was my first attempt at a bowl, I could have gotten more weight out of the bottom. I also glazed this one with a white base, and sprayed with a mix of blues.

I feel that I trimmed this pretty darn good, I cut out a section in the foot because I saw that some bowls have it and some don’t. I like the look of it in this bowl.

I threw the main bowl and trimmed it so that it was completely rounded. I then attached a smaller amount of clay so that I could throw a timmer bowl on the bottom at the foot.

I feel that the foot turned out good, I have to round the edges a little. And sand down the surface a tad so that it doesn’t rock back and forth.

Creepy Smiling Face Inspiration

I think this smile would work perfectly for what I envisioned my mask would look like. A stretched out smile with a mouth that seems to go into the abyss. The nose I feel might be too big for the face, might choose a different one.

This is what I am going for, at-least as the hands go, I would prefer to have more human hands and more deep set eyes. I would include a little of the veiny wrist for some depth.

Someone had Chipped the bottom when looking at it, so I was forced to make it look like it was broken on purpose. I think it turned out really well.

To be honest this is not a good bowl, they’re so many things I could have done better; with the glaze, the thickness, the throwing. Just overall a mediocre bowl.

I hand built this bowl. I then tried glazing it with cream matte, and close pink in the bubble style, which didn’t turn out that good. Oh well.
