- Gaston did not throw Belles book into the mud (as seen in the 1991 film) instead he acted as though he had read something similar to what she was reading hoping to make Belle like him because he shared an interest

- The scene in the bar/tavern it was more diverse than the 1991 film. I found that there were more women and people of colour

- Gaston had not pressed Belle into corners of her home instead he had stayed outside her home but clearly made Belle uncomfortable. Grabbing on her skirt and forcing her up her steps lead her to forcefully say no and shut the door on Gaston. The same outcome was given but brought up in a slightly different way.

Overall I believe in the 2017 film Gaston understood that he needed to share interests and give strong reasons why Belle should marry him. (Showing Agatha on the streets, pretending he reads...etc.)
