         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>On ships before 1780, people could only have one slave per a half ton of cargo.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>On ships that were 207 tons in 1788, there had to be five slaves for every three tons of cargo.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Traders could not serve unfamiliar foods to the slaves, so they had to serve African meals.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>About ten to fifteen percent of slaves died on the way to the coast of Africa when they were captured.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>About fifteen to twenty-five percent of slaves died from the journey from Africa to the Americas.</li></ul>]]></description>
