Higher Level (HL) students had to make 7-10 artworks that work together, and Standard Level students (SL) had to make 4-6 artworks that are cohesive. The looming figure of the plague doctor is captured in a stern, heartless,  pose, to symbolize death–and how it is unforgiving towards the living. I metamorphosed a vulture and a doctor. The feathered coat displays how the act of dying is similar to a vulture–it stalks the injured and old till their passing. The proportions are intentionally stretched out to resemble the torturous period where I had sleep paralysis–post the tragic death of my father.
