Yes, I agree that the use of technology has caused people to be more distant from one another. While technology has undoubtedly revolutionized the way we communicate and connect, it has also introduced barriers to genuine human interaction. With the used of the social media, texting, and other digital communication tools, face-to-face conversations and meaningful interactions have become increasingly rare.

For example, many people now prioritize virtual connections over real-life relationships, leading to a sense of detachment and loneliness.

Additionally, the constant distractions offered by technology often pull us away from being fully present with the people around us.

Overall, while technology has its benefits, it has undeniably contributed to a decline in the depth and quality of human relationships.

However, others may disagree that technology has caused people to be more distant from one another. On the contrary, technology has been a driving force in facilitating connections and fostering relationships in ways previously unimaginable. For example, platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have enabled people to keep in touch with friends and family across the globe, sharing experiences, photos, and memories instantly. Messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram have made communication more efficient, allowing for real-time conversations regardless of geographical barriers.

Additionally, apps like Zoom and Skype have revolutionized the way we communicate, making face to face interactions possible even when we are physically distant. This has been particularly crucial during times of crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, when we could not physically meet people. These technological advancements have strengthened bonds and brought people closer, allowing for deeper connections despite physical separation.

Furthermore, online communities provide platforms for individuals to find like minded people and form meaningful relationships based on shared interests and passions. Whether it's a hobby, a cause, or a professional field, technology has made it easier for people to connect with others who share their values and beliefs, creating communities that transcend geographical boundaries.

While it's true that excessive use of technology can sometimes lead to a sense of disconnection or isolation, it's important to recognize that the problem lies not with the technology itself but with how it's used. Ultimately, technology has been instrumental in breaking down barriers and bringing people together, enriching our lives with diverse connections and experiences.

An electronic device that has made me and my family's lives easier is the phone. One benefit it has on our lives is that it allows us to communicate with one another easily and conveniently. With apps such as WhatsApp and telegram which are easy and convenient to download, communicating with each other becomes a breeze and a matter of when we want to. For example should there be any urgent matter that requires me to inform my parents or relatives, I can simply take out my handphone and drop them a message to inform them. Thus talking with family members becomes very convenient and easy to do as with the phone, communicating with my family does not even require me to be close to them. Another benefit it has on our lives is the ability to conveniently surf the internet for information. As most phones will have apps such as safari or google, the internet can be easily accessed and information can be gathered from these apps. This can be particularly useful when we are unsure of certain information since we can search it up to see if we were correct about it or not. However, some may argue that other electronic devices such as the computer or laptop have had a bigger impact on making their and their families lives easier as computers and laptops allow the easier use of some apps such as google docs and slides as the larger screen makes it easier to use. However, I feel that this is not the case as computers and laptops are much larger than the phone and thus are harder to transport around as compared to the phone as you can simply place it in your pocket.

Some games i have played are Superbike the champion, superstar car and Asphalt 8 which are all online racing games. As a child, i have always liked the idea of speed and competing against another person to become the first finisher and thus why all these racing games were the games i used to play as a child. There is a rush of adrenaline whenever i played those games as it is often played in first person mode which made me feel like i am in the actual game racing against others towards the finish line or trying to beat a best time. The graphics of the game are also very in depth as the detail of the vehicles are often very similar to the racing vehicles in real life which entices many people to play such as myself.

Playing those games as a child has influenced my interest in racing shows and peaked my love for speed. Such examples are MotoGP and Formula 1. These are famous racing event that brings many people from all over the world to watch and having experience of racing virtually has allowed me to understand and appreciate the art of speed and racing in the various motorsports show.

I do agree with the statement. Firstly, I think that people are more distant with one another because excessive use of technology can reduce face-to-face interactions with people. When people rely heavily on digital communication channels, they may miss out on the feeling of in-person communication, leading to a sense of distance. For example, my group of friends who used to regularly meet up for dinner, we now find ourselves communicating primarily through group chats and social media platforms such as apps like WhatsApp and telegram. As a result, we might miss out on the warmth of face-to-face conversations, leading to a sense of distance among us.
Secondly, social media impacts has caused people to be more distant from one another. Social media platforms, while designed to connect people, they can sometimes have the opposite effect. People may feel disconnected or isolated when they compare their lives to others' highlight reels, leading to a sense of distance from real, meaningful connections. For example, i spend hours scrolling through my Instagram feed, comparing my life to the curated images of my friends' seemingly perfect vacations, relationships, and achievements. and i feel inadequate in comparison, which makes me withdraw from real-life interactions, leading to a sense of isolation and disconnection from my friends
However, the use of technology can be also used as a connector. While technology can contribute to distance in some instances, it also has the potential to bring people together. For example, my aunt who is a new mother, is struggling with post-partum depression. She finds support in an online parenting forum. Through this platform, she connects with other mothers who share similar experiences, forming friendships and receiving valuable advice and encouragement, despite being geographically distant from one another.
In conclusion, while technology has undoubtedly changed the landscape of interpersonal relationships, its impact on closeness or distance between individuals is multifaceted. Therefore, I think that it is essential for us to have an adequate use of technology, balancing its benefits while also prioritising meaningful face-to-face interactions so as to create genuine relationships.

(+global outlook)
(+elaborate/clearer)

some games i used to play as a child were things like catching, virus and also ice and freeze however there was one that i remembered clearly it was called the chungay which is a game that involve a big band of rubber band zip tied together to make it into a chrysanthemum shape then it is thrown at each other. once, i threw it at one of my friends so hard that it knocked one of his teeth out.

Nowadays, children play games on their devices that they carry almost everywhere. It is convenient and entertaining. However, they often play games at an inappropriate timing. For example, during meal time or a family gathering , neglecting social interaction and bonding.

Different generation has different things that people grow up with. It is unfortunate that children these days are always on their mobile devices.

I agree. The use of technology have caused people to drift apart, there are a few reasons for it. Firstly, technology can break family bonds apart because of people spending more time of their devices. During family dinners family members are supposed to talk and interact with each other as it is one of the rare moments in a day where the family can be together in this busy lifestyle. However with technology, people are using their devices on the table this makes families less prone to talk to each other and even cut off from each others life.

Next, when communicating online people are not able to see one another or read social cues this can cause them to miss misinterpret messages as they lack dept and therefore slowly losing human connection. Example, when the sender sends something through text and wants to convey their emotion positively the receiver might take it negatively due to a lack of social interaction.

However, others may argue that technology bring people closer together as they can communicate efficiently without having to meet face to face. This makes it easier to update each other about their life no matter the distant.

All in all, technology is like a two sided coin, there are positive and negative impacts. Personally I feel that technology have brought a more negative impact as it caused us to lose human touch.

Yes, I agree that technology has made people more distant over time. Technology has weakened the personnel connections between one another and made friendships less meaningful, however some argue technology has brought those living far distances closer. Technology has made us more distant in that friend groups may just talk to each other on group chats instead of meeting up, making the bonds from human interaction weaker as it is just words on a screen. Due to this distance, arguments or bad feelings may pop up more easily online which can cause friendships to loosen or even break. For example, my friend Anna Lim Jr stopped being friends with her friend because of a simple misunderstanding online, and it has been hard to reconciliate. Other people like my friend have also expressed barriers that are hard to overcome online, like tone or loosing the ability to recognize body language leading to disagreements and misunderstandings that could have been avoided had they just met up and talked instead.

However, technology has also brought people to be closer especially overseas.

Personally, I've had the pleasure of enjoying numerous games during my childhood, but as technology continues to evolve and advance, I fear that some of these traditional games are being forgotten. A significant portion of my childhood was spent engaging in outdoor activities with friends, including tag, four square, hopscotch, and hide and seek, among others. Hide and seek holds a particularly special place in my heart, as I vividly recall playing it with my primary school friends during my early years. We would choose a seeker and be given a minute to hide ourselves within the massive school campus. As curious and adventurous youngsters, this game not only provided entertainment but also offered us the opportunity to explore our surroundings. Through this game, I formed long lasting friendships and we are still regularly in contact, even though i’m in my final year of secondary school.

However, in today's digital age, children are increasingly enthralled by their electronic devices, such as phones and iPads. Many spend most of their free time engrossed in video games, browsing the internet, or scrolling through social media. Observing children watching videos on their phones or teenagers fixated on social media while out in public has become a common sight. While technology has its advantages, I worry that children are missing out on the simple joys of traditional play and the essential social skills it cultivates.

Ultimately, we must strike a balance between technology and classic games to preserve these cherished memories and ensure that children don't miss out on the benefits of both, thereby experiencing the same thrilling and carefree childhood I had playing traditional games.
