Vlad was the second of four children born into his family, meaning he wasn't the heir to the throne. His father and older brother were assassinated and then Vlad, Dracula, would embark on a journey to claim the title of ruler. In the threat of an impending Ottoman Empire , Vlad would impale enemies on wooden spikes and leave them there to threaten the Ottoman Empire. After his rule, Vlad the Impaler has become a folk hero for his efforts to deter an incoming Army.

As of right now, the only red flag for Vlad is sharing the same goal as his father, to protect Europe. In 1436, Hungary and the Ottoman Empire were in a power struggle of Wallachia, and their leaders. Despite losing his support, Emperor Sigismund, regained his support for Vlad II and appointed him Voivode, a form of prince, in Wallachia.Vlad II then broke from Wallachia and joined with the Ottoman Empire in attacking Transylvania, Vlad II was Imprisoned by the Ottoman Empire. Without his father, Vlad III really had no guidance or support. Vlad II was released from imprisonment shortly after being captured. The terms were to turn over his first two born children to the Ottoman Empire, in order to keep Vlad II true to his word. Vlad III and his older brother were held with the Ottoman Empire until Vlad II was assassinated in 1447 by Wallachian Noblemen. In doing this, Dracula broke the norms of scare tactics in the old age. Instead of invading another country to show dominance, Vlad III impaled his enemies. In some cases, he even drank the blood of the victims, while dining in front of them. The Ottoman Empire finally invaded and Vlad III's title of Voivode was no more. Vlad III was imprisoned, by the aiding Hungary Forces, and was locked up for many years. When the Ottoman Empire invaded Wallachia, again, he was released to go and reclaim his title of Voivode. Dracula did reclaim the title, but was killed by an Ottoman claimant in battle in 1476. During his life, he faced many sanctions and controls. Vlad III was sentenced to live with the Ottoman's, imprisoned by Hungary, and even disliked by his own people, who took him out of power after his first reign as the Voivode of Wallachia. The goal of the Wallachian society is to protect Eastern and Central Europe from the Ottoman Empire. Vlad III accepted that, he knew his goals, but he channged the ways of achieving the goal. Instead of waiting and reinforcing the military or invading other nations, Dracula impaled people with wooden stakes and leave them there to deter the Ottoman Empire. In some cases, he would drink their blood and have a meal in front of his victims, leaving them there to starve. The positives were that he helped to hold the Ottoman Empire back for a lot longer than usual and he is also considered a folk hero today, due to his actions over 500 years ago. The negative effects of society are more existent though. First off, he was disliked by his people he reigned over, due to his unorthodox ways. Dracula, true to his name, was also seen as a psycho to his victims, he would drink their blood in front of them and even dine while starving them. Vlad II was eventually assassinated by Wallachian Noblemen. Despite not being exposed to blood drinking and impaling, and his father being killed by his own country, Dracula followed down a similar path. He was disliked as well as his father, and being around him as he was Voivode, it helped Vlad III take on the same forms his father did.
