2. Phase --> Zellschädigung aktiviert Enzyme und löst die Apoptose geschädigter Zellen aus. Zytokine führen zur Einwanderung von Entzündungszellen in die Schleimhaut und zur Erweiterung der Blutgefäße

3. Phase --> Schleimhautepithel ist zerstört. Schädigung greift auch auf Submukosa über. Schleimhaut ist gerötet und schmerzt

4. Phase --> Ulzeration und Infektion. Schleimhaut wird weiter geschädigt

5. Phase --> Infektion wurde überwunden. Durch Wachstumsfaktoren wird das Epithel erneuert,  und die Ulzerationen heilt ab.
