Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) which restricts the use of drones within five miles of most airports, over military bases, or above 400 feet. In addition, the National Parks service enacted a ban in June of 2014 prohibiting the launching, landing, or operating of drones over national parks and waters.

Genetically Engineered Food:
Plant GMOs are regulated by the US Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service under the Plant Protection Act.  GMOs in food, drugs, and biological products are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the Public Health Service Act.  GMO pesticides and microorganisms are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency pursuant to the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act and the Toxic Substances Control Act. The form of regulation varies depending on the type of GMO involved.

The use of data and the actions taken by an employer or public body as a result of information gathered by technology such as Vehicle Tracking are governed under Data Protection, Human Rights and Employment Rights legislation.  However, this protection is not explicit and well defined  in relation to Vehicle Tracking itself and as such legal guidance should always be sought to ensure compliance with the law.

  • Privacy law, i.e., the law that regulates the collection, use, processing, and disclose of personal information. Under most privacy laws, personal information is defined as information which identifies an individual or allows an individual to be identified; this would apply to companies who make use of GPS trackers on workers.
  • RFID technology, i.e., the wireless non-contact use of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data with the aim to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects. A human implanted RFID chip installed without the knowledge and the authorization of the receiving person will make that person a lifelong object of surveillance.

    There are a number of committees that protect AI from being misused. One of which has been acquired by google. 

    The reason an ethics board or committee is needed is to prevent sentient AI from being misused. This would be the same as misusing a human. For example. Asking someone to do something that they know is morally wrong  and forcing them to do it is just the same as if you were to ask an AI to do the same.

    There is a committee called DeepMindAI that was acquired by Google in 2014 that is to prevent the misuse of AI. This means that if it ever became sentient that it has a security blanket to protect it. It also means that people can't abuse the program for any type of gain. It also would enforce laws/ rules to protect people too. Anything that could replicate its self or cause harm to people would be something that we as humans would want to avoid. Google has already created AI that can create AI so it won't be too long before everything will be AI controlled unless we use safeguards to prevent that.
