I also think the One Day in the Life project sounds very interesting so students could share their daily activities and photos. I think students (and adults) get so wrapped up in our day to day activities that we don't often stop and think about how school and life is different elsewhere. Both of these projects would help give students a different perspective on life!

I wish I would have known about this site and these projects. My mind is blown right now. I think my students' minds would be blown, too. I think it would be beneficial for my students to identify a problem and work with other people from other parts of the world to formulate and work through their answers. Teaching in a small town, I know that most of my students will not be world travelers. I teach a Geography class and I could see this being a wonderful addition to my classroom because we can see how other students' lives from around the world. This would be a perfect outlet for a writing class.  The other project, One Day in the Life, would be a great opportunity to integrate art and writing in the same project. Students share their photographs with caption of daily life and discuss it with partner students. Every minute we live is a life deserves to be remembered and shared with others. This seems like a unique opportunity for my students to see what life is like for students in other parts of the world. Students would be able to see the many differences and also similarities of a day in the life of students from different cultures and backgrounds.

How many times do you get to get together and learn from people from other cultures? iEARN makes this possible and all you need is a computer and an internet connection. For us to create "global citizens" is of the greatest importance to connect them with people that may have similar or different lives from them. The video shows how students grow with a bigger mindset that just by keeping them in a tiny bubble known as hometown. Children get to collaborate on projects and learn from each other. I really liked the idea that the website gives you options on how you want to experience iEARN. The Solar Cooking Project and The Golden Ratio both sound like lessons I would teach. I think both would be of value to my students and would engage all types of learners.
