         <description><![CDATA[<div>A group of aristocrats took power and made an oligarchy. The aristocrats dominated the Athens society. A ruler by the name of Draco set a set of rules that the Athens could use. These laws were very harsh such as loitering could be punishable by death.</div>]]></description>

A man of the name of Solon created a set of laws that were much less harsh and gave rights to noaristocrats. Under Solon's laws, all free men living in Athens became citizens. They were ready to end aristocracy.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Athens weren't so pleased with the way the government was and they wanted to end the rule of aristocrats. In 546 b.c. a noble named Peisistratus over threw the oligarchy and was called a tyrant. Peisistratus brought peace and prosperity to the land. He began new policies meant to unify the city. During his rule , many improvements were made in Athens. After he died his son took over which made the aristocrats very mad and thought of attacking the Athens. After the invasion the tyrants lost power and the aristocrats returned to power.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Around 500 b.c. a new leader named cleisthenes gained power in Athens. Although he was born in a very wealthy family he didn't want aristocrats to rule over the land. By calling on a group of people, Cleisthenes was able to overthrow the power of the aristocrats once and for all. In its place he established a new form of government. Under his leadership, Athens were able to form the worlds first democracy.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Under the leadership if Cleisthenes the people had more rights to participate in votings and getting more rights. As time grew on people got more rights. But soon the Athens democracy will come to and end. Pericles soon became a leader and encouraged a bunch of people to vote at assemblies.</div>]]></description>
